There is a counter in each ad. My deuce ad was viewed over 200 times, my M37 ad was viewed over 120 times, I don't remember the exact count. The M37 did sell because of this ad. The deuce was sold locally through the Museum newsletter.
Anybody ever see this show? Just watched a 10 Ton tractor painted in pretty blue and white move a 4,000 sq foot house on to a barge someplace on the gulf coast. Not even a grunt from the truck. Couple weeks ago they were on Grosse Isle in Detroit moving a house in 3 pieces from one side of...
Since the manual pictured above (TM9-4910-593-12&P) states it is for "motor vehicles, wheeled" there may be light, medium and heavy bars for trucks and another set of light, medium, and heavy bars for tracks. The Medium bar in an M88 tracked recovery vehicle manual would probably refer to...
A great use for old green iron!!!
Just remember that the max load for a deuce is 16 butts, 8 on each bench, no standing, no sitting on the floor, and NO LEANING AGAINST THE TAILGATE. Had a hard time convincing my infantry leaders that loading any more than that is asking for trouble...
RE: Military Vehicle Museum Location? Temp home for a Half T
There are several Museums listed on the OLIVE DRAB website. Just glancing through the listings, I would recommend contacting the California Military Museum at Old Sacramento State Historical Park, 1119 Second St, Sacramento, CA. The...
last to know
You weren't the last to hear about it. And what's going on Sunday? I get all you guys together and then you shut me out. WAAAAHHHH!!!!!!!
RE: Think in these too
The XM 410 was designed to use the same engine as the M113-the Chrysler 361. During testing of the six pilot models, some were changed to diesel. Dan's #2 definitely had the 361 to start with!
If the 109 is like my M348A2 trailer, the underfloor is fir and the walls are fir plywood. (At least that's what I remember Lane saying it was. The walls and ceiling are fully insulated with yellow fiberglass insulation. My trailer floor had linoleum on it that got destroyed and the floor...
RE: Re: RE: My tractor in the classifieds
Paul,
Sorry, it really is so! I'm cutting everything back to my 4 door M37 project. Been playing with plans and parts for 10 years, need to make some progress on it. Realized when I started planning upgrades and maintenance on the duece tractor...
I know I just got into the "big trucks" a couple months ago. I wasn't thinking things through. Bought the 348A2 trailer on an impulse, then HAD to have something to tow it with. Now, reality sets in.
Anyway, check the ad. Let me know what you think. $5,500 pretty much covers what I've...
for my M348A2N semi trailer.
Anyone have a source for the electrical plug for the front of a military semi-trailer? "THEY" cut off the original and wired up a civvy version that only worked the tail lights/turn signals. Managed to jury rig a harness off a standard trailer to work for the...
Take a look at putting a S250 or other electronics shelter in the bed. It would take about half the bed, leaving the rest for toys. Somebody had one like that at the Great Lakes Swap Meet in Clare in 2005, didn't see it this year.
Mine's a tractor
It goes by weight. When I got plates for my deuce tractor last week, lady at SOS said it would cost $280. I think, it was close to that 'cause I just knew it was WAY too much for my budget compared to the $30 for 10 years. Your cargo truck would be about $320 I think. PM...
RE: Ooooohhh sore but!!
Capatainal,
Check out the thread about the guy who flew to WI to pick up his deuce. Lots of good advice about shipping a set of tools to the pickup location and making sure you have spare parts available-hoses, belts, electrical connectors. Allow yourself several days...
Tomcatn-
PM me with contact info and I'll pass it on to a friend who used to have one. Not sure if he's sold it. I know it was a lot of fun to ride in for our "Snowmobile" runs.
Just chatted today with some guys from Point Man Ministries that took pictures of WILD THING while they were at Kokomo. They were up in Cheboygan, MI (almost to the Mackinaw Bridge) at a display of the MOVING WALL VietNam memorial wall display. We drove our trucks up to pay respects and they...
