    Another M37 Recovery

Rod, You can stop by my place next time you're up at Lane's. I've got some stuff and a couple parts trucks left. The one is a pretty decent box.

    TM for M35A2 ?

Never did find out why they changed from the 209 series to the 361 series. I DO know that the newer versions of each manual have corrections that needed to be made in the earlier versions. Someone mentioned a little thing like the placement of a seal or washer being different in his version...

M1500 Oshkosh Fire Truck might go under the Fire Hatchet!

This one This truck came from a local airport. When they replaced it with homeland security money, they sold it off. Dave knew the guy that got it from the airport. Never been near a torch. probably only saw flames in crew training.

    FMTV up close

According to the model chart I "acquired" from somewhere, there are only 3 basic trucks n the 2 1/2 ton range, the chassis, a van, and a standard cargo, although there is a LVAD model listed, whatever that is. The 5 ton has long and short trucks and chassis, van, wrecker, cargo, tanker, dump...

    FMTV up close

Just to clarify, the one with the crane on the back is the 5 ton 6x6 MTV as opposed to the 2 1/2 ton 4x4 LMTV.

How much did they cost new?

Found this info Found this pic I took off the G741 some time ago. The cost stencil was supposed to make the operator more cautious when any damages might come out of his paycheck as a statement of charges.

First GL win and retrieval (sorry no deuce)

Those shelter halves also make great windshield covers to block heat or frost. Used to have one snapped on my suburban, then a couple more to make shaded space beside the truck. A couple of those extendable poles, some anchor ropes, instant shade. Also as a windshield cover on both my Humvee...

Any pictures or information on the Dodge XM195?

modifications Karl The other resource you might want to find is John Zentmyer's book TM9-1840C, The Production Story 1949-1968. It looks like a small TM, but it's his own research on the subject. According to this book, the trucks were returned to Chrysler to increase the track width from52...

Any pictures or information on the Dodge XM195?

Karl, Fred Crismons U.S. Military Wheeled Vehicles has a couple good pictures of the XM195, including the recoilless rifle version. According to his research, and that done by John Zentmyer, there were only 3 trucks built as a lighter, quicker version of the M37. (I like to compare it to the...

    what model is this?

XM410 Lane's right. That one used to be mine. Didn't look that good when I had it, though. The XM410 series of prototype vehicles was built by Chrysler and Reynolds aluminum in the 1958-1960 range. 6 prototypes were built. #1 - rumor has it the tailgate is all that's left, somewhere east...

    Will a M101 fit inside a M105A2??

Phil, If neither trailer has the canvas and bows erected, AND you have the equipment to do so, you may be better off to FLIP the M101 on top of the M105. If necessary, you can put crib boards across between the beds. Just make sure everything is strapped down tight. Seen them transported...

    LAV-300 gets WGTi mods

What are the projected mods? Looks like you're starting with an empty hull. And where did you find all those M114s? The last time I saw that many hulls together there were staged at Camp Grayling to go on the ranges for hard targets!

M818 tractor loading advice needed for 2 trucks in Indiana.

How about one of the Museums in the area? Might be able to get some help with a loading ramp from Fred Ropkey at the Ropkey Museum? I know they're just outside of Indy. There may be another one in the area, too. One of those guys should, at least, be able to give you a name to contact.

    Unusual Camo Patterns...... Arctic?

You could look at the nearest surplus store---some of them have "woodland" pattern clothing that's in white/black/gray or blue/gray/black. When I had cold weather training, we kept the white snow pants on but used the green parka in the woods.
