OK a little help,,, pump and roll on a fire truck that does not really allow for that

Years ago, I was on the Volunteer Fire Dept. I remember training sessions where they called it a "road Pump". You went through a separate procedure. - Its probably like described above.

    1952 M101 clearance lights

The kind of clearance light in you picture was available back in those days too. As above, not all vehicles had them. Today, its not a bad idea to have plenty of lights, even though they were not required. There are bulbs available for that light, in all voltages, even 6 volts. Lee in Alaska

    Help, Needed Badly

that engine goes back to the '40s,. it was tried and true, but often MV's are run with little or no maintenance. To do the engine right, check the taper in the bore. If it has more then about .0010, it needs to be bored and re-fitted with oversized pistons/rings. Everything needs to be...

    XM211 Value

It would be a great donner. Especially, if you had a runner. Just getting that ground pounder off there is a good day. I assume somebody else will do it. Also, how is it mounted? If they did a bunch of welding to the frame, that will take time to fix.. Soooo, I guess $500, isn't a bad...

    Winch on M-135

Is that the GMC with the automatic? I'm not good on my M numbers. If it is, it drove the winch from the T-case. Seems like the lever to engage it hooked to a cable housing that moved the PTO control rod. Was the stuff that the lever mounted to, permanent under the seat? I'm pretty sure the...

    M105A2 Brake Air Diaphragm

They changed them then. My old 105 had a flat ones. If its a bowel shaped one, take it and the spring to a heavy truck place. It probably uses a standard brake type diaphragm. It might be an over the counter item. They come in several sizes. good Luck

    Deuce fuel Routing

OK, I'm starting to get it. My density compensator has been removed, so it is just tuned to run straight diesel. That is where I am loosing it. I have had the truck for about a year, and haven't had much time with it - only burned a half tank of fuel or so. But I bet the filters were half...

    M105A2 Brake Air Diaphragm

Some of the early trucks back in the 50ies used a flat diaphragm like that. Find a good heavy truck store and they should be able to get one. I would guess that some where, there are some military repair Kits for that. Midland is an air valve/air brake component Mfg company today. Also go to...

Thanks jasonjc. Do you know where it crosses back over to the right side?

    Deuce fuel Routing

Thanks for the information about the filters, but I am trying to understand the routing of the lines. Why is there a tee at the secondaries that goes to the rear, if the primary is under the alternator? Lee in Alaska

    Deuce fuel Routing

From the two secondaries, what is the line that goes to the rear, down along the frame. Is that primary ever up graded to a paper type cartridge?

    Deuce fuel Routing

Immediately under the alternator is a filter canister. It has what I call, "an old time cartridge" that is washable. Its fuel. The fuel line comes from the tank, turns right and goes forward up the right side of the frame, to this filter canister. Is this a primary filter? From here, the...

TOWING A M35A3 from TN to MD. CDL NEEDED?

I think you have made a very wise decision. In my mind, any way you look at it, your pickup and trailer, are overloaded with the A3, if not legally, but literally. Even when little stuff goes wrong, things can get very messy. I have been stopped so many times, even when I think I'm legal, and...

is it safe to pull a M348A2 with a deuce?

That combination is going to look awful funny, and can attract attention. DOT will require brakes on all axles. While you may technically be set up for trailer brakes on the Deuce, it really wasn't ment for that purpose. If you have an accident with it, your not going to have an excuse. They...

    M37 master cylinder updates

No, I always just rebuilt the old one. Do they make after-market new ones? Can't you just rebuild the old one. They sometimes even sleeve the old ones to bring the bore back to original specs. Lee in Alaska

    summer winter valve

I have always just set them in the center position, and forget about it. I think it was supposed to produce more carb heat, in the winter. Dan has a good feeling for them. Some of the other early vehicles, like the Internationals, in line sixes, had the flapper on a heat sensitive spring, so...
