    Willys MB Won't Start

OOPS ! ! ! Shoulda read the whole thing and not skipped to the end. Anyways, the post is still righteous and might help somebody in the future. Get yourself a remote starter switch (any auto parts place or even H F). Then you can crank it while leaning over (NOT on) the fender while...

Gentlemen, gentlemen . . . Heat must be gettin' to y'all. chrisniak, Welcome from Southcentral PA. All of the posters above are, I M H O, correct in their fashion. The most important things you need are mechanical skills, and resources. This place is FULL OF the second. Finding...

Coffey1, looks awesome ! Is that the approved pattern from the TMs ? Not saying it matters, just never saw one taped and painted using all the little pick-up points so quickly.

Yessir ! I have lotsa memories of friends whose rides had "a funny noise, canya jist look at it for me? ". Best, ( and a VERY old joke) was the one that told me he had a hole in his muffler, could I fix it without buying a WHOLE new one? Told him all he needed was new MUFFLER BEARINGS. He...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

cucvrus, Wow, ya dodged a .30 caliber there. I had a borrowed pick-up returned to me on a roll-back with the RF wheel hangin'. They wanted to do some four wheelin' after they used it to move. I asked if I could borrow his T/A for the night. Had some cops I wanted to chase me . . . Ba dum...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Spray a test panel (white license plate blanks from a craft store) with the color you want and take it to your paint mixer. If they have a scanner they can match it in seconds or they can do it manually by mix and test. I have even taken pictures of colors i like and had them matched.

front suspension mods AKA - ride improvement mods AKA - butt happiness mods

Haven't had any break from being sprayed while parked. I am talking about sitting for a few months. Overloaded ? Yes. Rusted from sitting ? Yes. But never when maintained and loaded properly. Agree that use is the best solution.

front suspension mods AKA - ride improvement mods AKA - butt happiness mods

Pennsylvania's roads will leave my packs shining like the sun. And my kidneys even more damaged than they are now. Another old trick, if it'll be parked for a while, spray the packs with penetrating oil. Not a perfect solution but every little bit helps. Still haven't tried the ATF / acetone...

What's the correct type of bolt

Unless you are using the same metal on ALL parts they can corrode including different ALLOYS of the same base metal. Best solution is a SMALL amount of anti-seize compound on any dissimilar metal surfaces. Hardware store grade is fine for mounting things like your radio rack. Be conservative...

    Onboard air

Well, then make a shopping list and hit your closest Pick & Pull salvage yard. Basics : compressor, preferably off a GM with a 6.2 diesel. Any can be made to fit but that should be a bolt on. Take all the lines and attached parts all the way to the firewall. A crankcase breather for the low...

    Onboard air

Does your vehicle have a/c now ? If so you have most of it. Some lines (or hoses), a FILTERED inlet source, a storage vessel (tank) WITH DRAIN and a high pressure cut-off, and a way to get the air to your end use device. (tool, inflator, etc.) The link above is good. I also have seen...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Elijah95, Almost seems like ya could reach out and touch the track don't it ? Had a tractor on Daytona years ago. Very disconcerting feeling until I hit about 90. (Yes, Kenworths, and others before somebody cries foul, could, before electronic b.s.) 74M35A2, When I get to that point on an...
