I'm the last guy to discourage anyone from bringing a tanker of any kind, but there's a big machine already on site that they use to soak down the parking areas for dust control. Also, there's a pond in the camp site, so water access isn't a problem. Maybe if the tractor operator were introduced...
rofl Good 'un, gimp!
I hope I didn't stir anything up. I'd bet living with that nickname all though jr. high would've been rough. Then having to relive it here...
Well, I tried breaking it so he'd have to sell it to me, but no dice. He really likes that trailer!
Gimp, go ahead and post the pics if you can find 'em. I was in no mood to dig the camera out at the time. Tell cutlett to find this thread and post what he has, too. (I typed too fast for my...
Ah, some of them are just stayin' over for a little while (not mine) but there are a few that aren't pictured so it kinda evens out. I do appreciate the compliment, though!
Maybe we should add a parking-lot-donut-contest to the list of events. The trophy will be a... Oh, nevermind.
I'm already looking forward to the trip. This thread reminded me to get my camping gear reorganized and repacked after the GA rally. (I couldn't find anything while I was there!)
Plywood on gravel works just fine. Of course you have to try to avoid slipping on the grease... Or sitting in it. And it's best if the ground is fairly level.
I only keep one or two in the suburban driveway at a time. One of these days I'm gonna drive the whole fleet over from the coal mine and make some noise. Oooh, maybe during the community yard sale in the spring! Sure hope I don't collapse the tile in the front yard...
Actually, his wife found it. That lady must have an eagle eye!
Now someone bring me that drum. I need to fix kip's trailer before he finds out what I did to it...
Were the shipping estimates that bad, doghead?
I say thrrow some mirrors on, keep the rust under control and call it a day. You can restore any of the next 7 or 8 trucks you buy!
It is nice to have an ugly truck in the fleet, and you won't worry about your passengers scratching up the new paint.
I got a little busy a while back and couldn't find time to mount the plates on my M1009. That truck was a daily driver (about 170 miles a day) for over two months before I finally remembered to take care of it. I wanted to build a custom mount with light, but ended up using zip ties.
The moral...
And that old ford purrs like a kitten! The hand crank starter looked a little too "out there" for me, though. I'd lose my noggin' for sure.
Hey Todd, pm me an address unless you want to wait on gimp to deliver your pintle.
Oh, and make sure you rig up a fording kit for haspin. Wouldn't...
I had a part in towing an M817 with an M109 for about 50 miles on a wide open interstate with very little traffic. At times we got down to around 35 mph for miles, and even slower on the bigger "hills". (The kind of hills you don't even notice without a load.) It didn't take long to stack a...
Man, BUckeyes all over the place!
I did my 715 with spary bombs, but didn't prep very well over the shiny fire dep't yellow paint. Luckily, it only comes off in small chips and touch up is a breeze with a spare rattle can stashed away. Take your time and prep, but buy a few extra cans of...
