yup its just sitting outside next to the barn in the rain. I thought these things could be outside in the elements with the cabinets they are in. I had thought about putting a little space heater inside the cabinet but I like your idea of a light bulb. Id love to hear more about what you do for...
Well just an update. More for the people that happen to search this sometime in the future so they have some follow up.
I localized the problem of the fault indicator panel. IT appears to be just in the panel itself the fault sensors all work fine and shut the set down. ( Tested them all)
So...
So I went out to start the generator today. Its been pouring rain the last 4 days over here. Turned the switch on and usually just the low oil pressure light comes on and thats it but clears itself when you start the unit. Well today the top two lights came on low oil and cant remember what the...
Super glad it was an easy fix. Went out to start mine today and noticed that the the top two idiot lights were on and then skip a row and the next two were on think short circiut and over speed. Its been raining a lot over the last 4 days hopefully just moisture. The low oil pressures light...
so build a cheap load bank and put a load on it no big deal..
Just do it once every now and then I would not worry bout wet stacking if thats your only concern..
Agreed both the 004 and 005 are noisy but its a much lower tone and its easier on the ears. I can still hear the 005 running from my house and its way over at the barn (400 yds away). The 003 and 002 have more of a cracking noise to them, and they are air cooled which makes them much louder as...
I really dont know but I would assume its much harder to get parts for the newer machine. Not many are on the surplus market. My MEP 003a when I first got it back in 1995 was significantly harder to find parts for. Today there are so many out there on the civilian market its very easy to find...
Id have to agree with Triple Jim. And id suggest you not run it this way because its very possible that its not running for a reason because one of those sensors might indeed be telling you that a problem needs to be addressed. Most likely one of them just failed but its possible there is an...
**** Assembly boggles my relatively young mind (32). Thats what I like the atmel cause I can program them in C which I find a little easier to get my head around :) Yeah Ive been planning on posting a DIY in the future once I get it all to work and have the time to write it up. After it works it...
Nice yeah I dont know much about the intel series, ive only played with the atmel's and the pic. I too love micros they can do so many amazing things and are dirt cheap packed full of features that are endless as long as you have some imagination and ingenuity with the software. I like the idea...
And you can talk and have a full conversation and glass of wine next to the 803 its only 70 db from what ive read which is significantly less noise than the 003. :)
Not a bad idea I like it. Think some high resistance resistors would be safe enough being the only thing between the line voltage and the ADC pin on the micro? With the ADC yeah it would be easy just tell the software to count the peaks pretty much and then send out a PWM signal to the meter to...
Yup the one im still working on is sensing fq. Been thinking of using a step down transformer to drop the line voltage down to 5 v or so then use a diode chop the sine wave into a pulse train. Send that to an optocoupler and then feed that to the micro but have not had time to test it. Thanks...
Pretty sure the way these work is you need the appropriate transducer for the meters. I know the fq meters require a transducer to interpert the line voltage into a DC voltage which drives the actual needle on the meter. Mine died in my MEP 005. I am right now in the middle of working on making...
Sounds to me like you want a MEP-004 so you can play with it... And you want to run your whole house off of it.
So I think you have answered your own question just buy one dump some money into it and run your whole house off of it. :)
I have a mep-003 it handles the house fine and one of my...
SO I am happy to report I got it properly timed now. Turns out the pump was timed 180 degrees out of sync which will allow the motor to run but not very well and makes starting it even harder. If you would like the full details of it all here is a link on smoke stak covering the saga...
So im confused are you asking why the day tank is not filling when the battle short switch is not on? Id say your fuel solenoid is working just fine because the day tank would not fill regardless of switch positions if the solenoid was not working thats what allows the fuel to flow into the tank...
Hey guys been awhile since ive been working on my project Mep 005a. Any way I just got the injection pump back from the diesel shop along with all the injectors. Any way I installed all the injectors and the injection pump.
Well I followed all of the directions based on the TM for timing the...
Well are you going to be running all that stuff simultaneously? Id say if you had all that going at the same time the mep 004 probably will not be able to do it or at least only for a short time before the overload safety kicks out. However I dont see you using your AC at the same time your...
If your in 29 palms, San Bernardino county I have a 30 kw set that would probably drive that plasma cutter just fine that id be willing to let ya have. Id even deliver it for you. As every body else here has said 200 amps for a plasma cutter at 3 phase power is an insane amount of power..
