That is the problem everywhere, I store my projects and my construction equipment across three yards in two counties. The oldest one was a fenced in area 2 acres by 1.5 acres with a large pole building.
I am forced to give it up because the drug addict punks in the area are stealing the...
I was looking through my factory manuals, did you know there was a 6.2 used in the early GMC top kick five ton trucks. The engine was not just for their light duty line.
I had a drain on my MV, turned out to be a leaky diode on the alternator, sitting it would draw the batteries down after just a few days of not running the truck.
:(
I would go with a weak or dripping injector. you should remove them and go to the local big rig shop and have them tested. I have had used engines that ran fine when pulled get bad injectors when they sat for over a year. I also had a freak chunk of junk filled injector line start throwing...
I ever since I was a kid wanted a 6x6 truck, I had one made out of plastic when I was 7 years old, and I took it everywhere with me. Now that I am grown up I have 5 Deuces and 8 other military vehicles including one aircraft. I started with a simple last survivor experimental XM211 excavator...
I forgot, we had a 6.5 newer truck we got off the GSA with a turbo, I still like my old 6.2 non turbo. it was not as fast but the 6.2 had nothing but problems when we over worked it.
The 6.2 is a decent out of the box power plant for one ton and under Chevy trucks. We have a ex federal one ton dump truck with a 6.2 in it. I used it to recover a 1947 Dodge Five ton dump truck. I towed the trailer and truck up and down some very steep hills. That 6.2 performed extremely...
I have Progressive commercial truck insurance, told them it was for private use. They charged me $280 for six months. Liability only coverage.. I used to have State Farm, but they frown on vehicles over 20 years old in a over a ton size.
Sometimes the radiator cap spring does not let off at the desired pressure. ( especially those Chinese crap ones ) Just five to ten pounds too much pressure can cause leaks and blow outs due to over cooling pressure. YOU also have to remember your reserve tube that that cap releases to is just...
Hey everyone, if you want to stay overnight there is a motel just by Tobyhanna with three huge parking lots that are friends of mine. I asked them if they would give a break to people from the Steel Soldiers group. Lodging for the Steel Soliders members would only be $40 for the night. I...
I had a 1968 Detroit do just that, we had it run away right after we rebuilt it, some one messed on the reassembly of the pump. It went right off the scale on the tach before we could stop it. When we finally got it fixed and back up, it had one **** of a rod knock. There went the rebuild right...
Hello, I ran into a problem, Some crack head broke into my storage yard over the week end. They tried to steal the canvas top of of my 211. Who knows why, we manage to get to the yard just in time to chase them away. ( we have cameras ) Well The both tops were on the ground. I am having a ****...
Get a radiator pressure tester fast ! Forget the fact you have a 16 pound cap, they jam. I had one truck build up 38 pounds of pressure when at fast idle due to a leaky head gasket allowing pressure into the cooling system. Blew 2 radiators apart before I found the cause. :(
