I have an M1030M1 with the key epoxied in. I bought a new OEM switch like you, but once I found out what is involved in replacing the switch, I stuck with the epoxied key switch and went to a chain and padlock for security. You really do good work. I am very impressed!
The larger line connects to the fitting on the top of the timing gear case, shown as #19 in the attached drawing. The taped off portion at the top of the photo disappears and I can't tell where it goes. I'm thinking this might be a lubrication line to lubricate the timing gears, but I've not...
I read that virtually all small portable commercial generators have the neutral permanently bonded to the frame. I assume this is because a lot of them are used remotely. I would also assume that virtually no one ever drives a ground rod in the ground when using these remotely, such as...
Neither line is a fuel line. The lower portion of the larger line that is cut off is connected to the timing gear cover. The upper portion of the larger line that is taped off, is laying on top of the fuel filter, which is misleading.
I am interested in one of your cab gaskets when ready. However, how will the firmer urethane fit over the large third hole? There are brackets on both ends of the large tube.
Finally got around to do some troubleshooting. I measured the output with a VOM and it was putting out ~1 volt at 1200 RPM and the headlights on. I adjusted the alternator output and the max I could get was ~2 volts. I'm now looking for a replacement or a place that will rebuild it.
I put crushed gravel in mine to get the bulk of the heavy stuff out. Very tired from shaking the tank! I then put vinegar in it and let it sit for a day or two, then repeated. The vinegar ate the stuff out pretty good but wasn't particularly fast. I finally got it cleaned out pretty good...
That is what I don't understand. I only have ground rods at the house end, none at the trailer. I have a permanently attached separate ground cable that runs from the trailer/genset frames to the ground rods at the house. The jumper is in place, which connects the neutral on the generator to...
I have a question. Why is it bad to leave the jumper in place bonding neutral to ground at the generator when using the generator to power a house? To clarify, I have the following situation.
I have an MEP003A that is trailer mounted and that is connected to my house via a 400 amp manual...
I have two rubber tubing runs on the front of my SEE engine. One of the lines has been cut in half. The upper portion has been taped off with electrical tape. The portion of the tubing on the bottom is open and not taped off. I have no idea what function this hose performs. I'm assuming I...
You can normally tell if a pump is running by touching it and feeling the vibrations when it clicks. I've also used a listening stick for this purpose.
Another thing to consider is what do you do if the SEE breaks down? Your only piece of equipment is now out of commission and you likely have a deadline.
Does anybody know what these holes are in my hood? I'm assuming that they are unused on a SEE, but have a purpose on civilian Unimogs, such as trim? I've looked at photos of two other SEEs and haven't seen those holes. The four holes are centered, two close together a few inches from the...
Permatex has two different anti-seize products. One is called 'Copper Anti-Seize Lubricant' and has small particles of copper in it. They advertise that it is primarily designed to be used on stainless steel or similar alloys. The other product is called 'Anti-Seize Lubricant Advanced...
Generally you can just clean out the ones you have to stop the leakage. Or replace them with affordable ball valves.
Thanks! Your advice was spot on. I cancelled my order for the new drain valves. I removed the old ones and I was amazed at how much trash came out. The two on the tanks...
