Ok next question. When you adjusted the shoes did you leave a gap between the shoe and drum at the top or did you adjust the upper side to where it ever so slightly rubs on the drum when you spin it? I adjust mine out to where you barely hear/feel them drag. After you drive it for a few miles...
I have to agree with jeepsinker. I got mine for a screaming deal. I love how bright they are but if they crap out on me I'm installing HID'S. I haven't had the greatest luck with trucklite products, though so far the headlights are holding up.
Have you tried idaho motorpool? They can't be any further than California. Though their prices may be rediculous. May not be. Can't hurt to check them out.
Try running 35 psi in the front tires and 30 in the rears. I know it seems low but trust me the difference is amazing. Basically I set my tire pressure by parking on flat concrete or asphault. Then get down in front of or behind the tire and look at the tread contact patch. You want it to...
I dunno. The muffler I added made the exhaust the least obnoxious noise in the cab. I didn't change the stack height and after it gets painted you won't even notice it there. I can go up to about 45 before needing my ear muffs. After that the drivetrain noise gets too loud for my comfort...
I'm not all that worried about cracking. Fact is fiberglass isn't nearly as difficult to repair as some might think. If you think a metal top can handle someone standing on it... well I don't know what tops you have seen but all of the metal ones I have handled were already caved in from...
Why does it bother you so much? Once the tanks air up it turns off. It won't turn on again until the air bleeds down. Which under normal conditions shouldn't be any time your driving. Heck if you don't have any air leaks it should hold air for at least a few hours.
I would much rather have a hard top. All the ones I find near me are beat to crap. So a good condition metal one shipped to me is the same price as a fiberglass one. So uf they fit good I would honestly rather have fiberglass. At least they don't rust.
If it can lift a multifuel then a bed would be a cake walk as far as weight. Balancing the bed could be fun but it weighs around 1400 pounds for a 12ft bed. Multifuel weighs about 1800 pounds.
I wouldn't say they make complete engines. They are not the origional hercules diesel. They opened up after hercules went defunct to supply repair parts.
Actually, yes it can. The deuce has air over hydraulic brakes. Not air brakes. So if you loose air you loose power brake boost. Do your brakes still work? Yes. Do they work well with no air? NOT AT ALL!
Also, forgot to mention, those pressurized spray bottles are awesome. I keep wd-40 in one. I get that stuff in the bulk 1 gallon containers. No more half full cans with no propellant left. aua
Honestly, I'm not really sure. Mine will drip a little but my slobber tube rotted off who knows how long ago. So my starter and top of my axle have a nice coat of oil. However, it isn't fresh. More like years of build up. Even on a cold day I don't see much if any vapor coming from mine at...
