Man I'm going to be honest I don't think its as simple as turning the rpm's up. Could be but thats not my experience. Start with changing your fuel filters and making sure the in tank pump is functioning. Your truck is either starving for fuel or the governor is off for whatever reason.

Definitely rebuild the air dryer. I think the kit is about $150 or it might even be less. Shouldn't take you more than an hour to do. It's very strait forward. The air govener is about $25. I don't know if there is a bench test for them. I think the air priority valve is about $60.

2 things you NEED to do. Rebuild your air dryer and replace the air priority valve on the tanks. It looks sorta like an air regular. I believe it is mounted to the topside of the outer tank. Eriks military surplus has them I believe. They also have the air dryer parts you will need.

Its not the pressure that hurts it. The heat degrades the lining. Run it till it starts cracking. At least get your money's worth out of it.

The stainless braided line is what otr trucks use now.

Use either copper or stainless steel braid ptfe lined air hose for the first 3 feet or so directly out of the compressor. The heat from the air will eventually destroy hydraulic hose.

Don't waste your money on the augers or auger style mufflers!!!!! I only thought it was quiet until I installed an aero turbine 3535 on my truck. The auger is a joke compared to the aero. The aero also is a flow through design so no worries on raising EGT's.
