    Tatra 912-2 upgrades!

Wow, that all looks really neat! Go to http://www.mcmaster.com and type in "check valve" in the search field. They have all sorts of different kinds, and I'd be surprised if you couldn't find at least one suitable kind of valve there.

    WMO recovery, How do you...

I'm looking forward to hearing how the trash pump works out. I've been thinking about buying one of those, though not for oil transfer. I have a 5,000 gallon water tank on my property for fire suppression. It's there so that a fire truck can hook up to it and have some water to pump, since the...

    WMO recovery, How do you...

So far, I've just accumulated 20-30 gallons or so of my own waste oil (well, actually it came from my trucks) in a drum and I haven't burnt any of it yet, but I'll throw something out anyway: Last time I was at Harbor Freight, I noticed that they had a few different drum pumps, both in...

Tranny about fell out of my Deuce

rofl Aw, who needs bolts, anyway? Weld everything, then get another cheap truck off GL when something breaks! ;)

Tranny about fell out of my Deuce

Wow! The thought of a prankster unbolting a transmission just boggles my mind, but maybe now that everybody has flush toilets and there aren't any more outhouses to be moved 6 feet back, that's what they're doing? I think I'd pull that transmission the rest of the way off in order to...

    radio Equipment

Are you selling the antenna base and/or antenna whip elements, too? If it's the correct SINCGARS antenna base and elements (not the older MX-6707 for the VRC-12 stuff), then I might be interested in some or all of your pile if the shipping won't hurt too much.

Remote Brake Fluid Resivoir - My Version

I reckon you're powerful confused there; Mal Reynolds was played by Nathan Fillion, the guy in Mike's avatar picture. Hey, whatever floats yer boat! rofl

Won an M109 today (Pick up underway 10 OCT)

RE: Re: RE: Won an M109 today Are you going to use civilian ham gear, or a military HF rig? Just curious... you can still have some bonus points even if it's a Yaecomwood. :D

    The Usual Cupholder Shot

Yarg, I really didn't need to see two girls and a cupholder. Another cupholder trick which I've seen (and shamelessly plagiarized!) is to make a holder out of ABS or PVC tubing, and then secure it in the rifle mount. I don't recall the exact sizes that work well, but you use smaller...

Remote Brake Fluid Resivoir - My Version

I think I've seen at least one picture where somebody mounted their remote reservoir on the driver's side of the firewall in the engine compartment, so it can be checked by opening the hood side door. I think that might be a good option for spring seat trucks. I might also do that on my wrecker...

Won an M109 today (Pick up underway 10 OCT)

Re: RE: Won an M109 today I'm not familiar with those platforms. Do you have a link or a picture? I didn't know that you're a ham, too. You get bonus points for adding HF gear to your van! ;)

Remote Brake Fluid Resivoir - My Version

Re: RE: Remote Brake Fluid Resivoir - My Version Cool. Maybe mine all needed new shocks, but I've found the spring seats to be less comfortable than the box seats. They just seemed to give the seat back a running start before it slammed me in the kidneys, each time I hit a bump.

Towing recommendations between Barstow and Riverside, CA

RE: Re: RE: Towing recommendations between Barstow and River Thanks for all of the suggestions that I've gotten so far (both in this thread and by PM). I'll probably try calling City Wide tomorrow morning... even though I bid on those silly CUCVs on a whim and I've never been much of a CUCV...

Remote Brake Fluid Resivoir - My Version

Does that oiler bottle have an air vent? If I'm not mistaken, it's necessary to let air move in and out of the reservoir, or else you might find yourself either with no brakes or brakes that won't release when you least expect it. If you haven't already incorporated an air vent, then I'd suggest...

Won an M109 today (Pick up underway 10 OCT)

RE: Won an M109 today Some more observations: * It doesn't have the van body heater option, and I don't see signs of the kit having been installed and then removed. * I don't see signs of a cab heater kit, yet it has the clean air scoop on the left engine compartment door. Of course, the door...

Won an M109 today (Pick up underway 10 OCT)

Congratulations! I see that it appears to have the correct boarding ladder stowed inside... and I hope that it will still be there when you pick it up, since those can be hard to find. I see that your truck has the ether start kit instead of the flame heater, and I also agree that the cable...

Towing recommendations between Barstow and Riverside, CA

Re: RE: Towing recommendations between Barstow and Riverside Thanks for the info! Did they charge you for the backhaul, too, or did the clock stop running when the cargo hit the ground?

Towing recommendations between Barstow and Riverside, CA

I just got my paid-in-full invoice on four CUCVs at Barstow, CA, that I need to transport to Riverside, CA. I don't know if any of the CUCVs run, and if possible I'd like to stay at home and let the trucks come to me. ;) I did at least head out there to look at them before bidding, though. Many...

EUC being sent to Battlecreek...how much longer?

I just got my paid in full invoice today (9/8/2008). I was anticipating a longer wait, since I haven't played the GL game in several years and thus I'd expect Battle Creek to take longer to clear me. Event was 3547, closing 8/7/2008. I got the DLA letter about not selling my stuff to foreign...

    Cummins WMO mix

RE: Re: RE: Cummins WMO mix Ah, I didn't realize that there was so much difference in capacity between bag and spin-on filters. Well, if I could find a good used bag filter housing for cheap, then bags might be the way to go, even though the per-bag cost isn't that much less than a spin-on.
