RE: Re: RE: Cummins WMO mix
I'm curious and a little bit confused about the economy of using bag filters vs. spin-on filters, particularly in small-scale filtering (i.e., for my trucks which are driven very infrequently). I haven't used bag filters before, so I don't know how they compare to...
I'll look for a screen and/or try to figure out how to make one. Maybe I should try calling up ARO/Ingersoll Rand to see if they have a nice pre-made one?
Anyway, I just dug up the manuals and datasheet for my pump. They include info on air consumption which might interest Tommy. I'm leaving...
I was not planning to run my own pump off my truck air system; I plan to use it with a stationary compressor in my shop. Its dataplate suggests that its oil output pressure should equal the air input pressure, but based on Gimpyrobb's advice I'll need to see if it works the way that I think it...
Thanks for the info! Last weekend I transferred all of my waste oil from cracked plastic buckets and so forth into my nice shiny new (well, actually rusty and old!) barrel, with a nice shiny new (well, now it's oily and dirty) 5-gallon drum-top funnel. Some goop did get in there before I saw it...
Bummer, that's just about what I'll owe on a batch of four CUCVs out of Barstow once my EUC clears. I think I'd rather have the M35A3. I don't suppose you'd like to trade, would you?
By the way: With the valves used in the military kit, the cables pull on the levers at a right angle to the valve body. They're a different kind of valve than the pop-off valves that you described, which are very commonly used as over-pressure safety valves on air compressors. I've also found...
There's actually a military MWO (Modification Work Order) to add cable-pull drain valves to the deuce. They're not quite the same as the pop-off valves commonly found on air compressors, but they do let you drain the tanks without crawling underneath the truck to turn valves. The kits show up...
When I tried to bring up the fuel-burning heater in my second M109A3's van body, it took me quite a while to get it to light the first time. In the process, it flooded out and a bunch of fuel accumulated in the bottom of the exhaust pipe (which is designed very nicely for fuel accumulation in...
There's another one of those coming up for auction in Utah first thing in September. From the pictures, it looks like the tooling has been stripped out from the Utah one. I hope that reb87's truck has the tooling, or if not, he at least got the truck at a good price. It looks really nice in the...
