My stuff

I take that back- after looking at my wheels they do have the same dish. I guess its the fact that the tires have a straighter profile that they look more like the single wheels. Looks good nonetheless, maybe I can live with the dual wheels singled out, cause yours looks good to me. I was...

    manifold heater- does it work?

how do I know it's working? I had a hell of a time starting the deuce this morning, it was about 9 degrees out and took like 10 tries with the heater supposedly on. What exactly does it do and how can I tell if its working?

    My stuff

sweet! Can't wait to single mine, offroad it will be a godsend. you know, those ARE some strange wheels. Never seen any like those, they're not the standard single wheels, but they aren't the duals either. Custom maybe? The body of the wheel has a wierd contour in it that looks like that's...

    Those Yellow Headlights

fog lights are yellow because, simply, they increase contrast. White lights shine all colors of the spectrum on the tiny water droplets and make them appear more blurry, fog lights only shine one color and that makes the droplets more clear and they don't look like they're a hologram

    Snow run opportunity this weekend!

Reno's usually the same way- big storm then within hours it's sunny and most has melted. We're lucky to see snow on the ground for more than a few days. Not this time though, the remnants of this should be around for a while. We hit a record low of 3 degrees last night in the valley and...

safe to fill up split rims at certain psi?

is there a proper name for the tire cage, so I know what to search for and maximize my results? Like "tire inflation safety structure" or something? didn't see any just now, maybe cause there's none on there.....

    crankcase vent tube?

should this thing be going over the side of the engine and pointing right at the fenderwell/ground? At first I thought my turbo was leaking cause it ran right next to it, but I got to looking and it appears to be the vent tube leaking. Is that right? thanks

light switch and brake lights, part three

well, my brand new turn signal arrived and I was all excited about it fixing my stop lights. Nope, didn't help. Dang! I should have been wary before when I was getting no power to the brake light switch, let alone out of it. So, I sat down and color coded my wiring diagram trying to make...

    Back-Up Light

very cool! Looks like a factory job. I'm curious what you did for a switch and wiring? I have some auxiliary brake lights with a manual switch (had to rig them up when my brakes weren't working) but think I may mount them permanently, or try to move them inside the stock housing. Just...

safe to fill up split rims at certain psi?

well, I got a nifty remote tire filler, but had to replace the chuck with a clip on chuck. Then I went to work- had a shocker when i found the two rear rear left tires at about 20 psi each I inspected the rings to see they looked properly...

    Snow run opportunity this weekend!

ho-ho-hoh BABY!!!!! yup, we got 6 inches here on the valley floor. I admit on Saturday we didn't go play in the deuce, I actually spent the day playing in the truck then replacing my malfunctioning hubs but yesterday I decided to see...

    got the deuce registered.......

California.... ouch. Doesn't CHP need to inspect every vehicle, no matter what? In NV you only need inspections on out of state VIN numbers, nothing else just the VIN, and inspections on salvage vehicles. My advice, never mention anything inside DMV about the 3 axles or GVW, in NV it...

    Veteran's day parade pics

that would be great, but I don't know how they creep along riding the clutch for so long. The parade was over two hours cause of all the marching bands! There's also this wierd vibe I get from the local MV people. I could go through the parade as a lone wolf though

loading Jeep in the bed of a deuce?

hmmm... checked my local ad and on the web and didn't see them. Do you remember exactly what they called them? I looked up "ramp" and it didn't come up with any? thanks!

loading Jeep in the bed of a deuce?

I know what you mean- I've been eyeing a deuce as a small car hauler for like 5 years now. Never had the car before to justify it but after renting a trailer a few times I got fed up and FINALLY got my deuce (yeah, I'll just tell people that's the reason <img...
