I would clean both ends of the ground wire on the alternator next. Then I would move to all the electrical connection in the charging system. Trucks that sit tend to get a lot of corrosion.
If it still doesn't work, I would just pull it and have it tested. Be sure to find someone who knows...
I finished fixing this truck over the weekend and thought I would post what I did. I replace the thermostat because the old one didn't open up as much as the new one when I tested them side by side, but it wasn't by much. I also took the radiator to a shop and had it boiled out. I think that...
Are you talking about the white wire or a plastic line? Here is a link to some pictures of a filter base off the truck.

It is labeled fuel heater in the TM. The fuel gauge is just a guide, you will have to drive it more to get an idea of fuel mileage.
It is to keep ice from forming in the filter. You might want to fix it where you live.
I have been doing some more studying and it appears there is suppose to be a black with white stripe wire on the ground post that is also part of the diagnostic circuit.
That means that the TM shows 6 wires and you have six wires, one is just in the wrong place. Good thing you don't have the...
The extra brown wire goes to the tach buffer module and is part of the diagnostic circuit. It is not needed for the proper running of the truck.
Your picture shows 6 wires attached to the alternator, The TM only shows five. Where does the extra black wire attached to power output stud (the...
At a minimum, I would go with two 12 volt chargers instead of one 24 volt one. Everything said about the trucks charging system being unable to balance the charge across the batteries will apply to the 24 volt charger if you bring the truck in after a run with unequally discharge batteries...
You really haven't told us enough to help you much. What is the status of the title? Is it complete but rough or mint condition with a blown motor ? You basically have to decide how much it will take to get it into shape plus how much of your time vs what a nice one is selling for now and do...
As far as being worth the bid price, I would have to reserve judgment since the one picture of the back only hints at what is really back there. If someone previewed it and it is better than the pic represents and they wanted one like that then it could well be worth it. From what I could see...
I am not having the problems you are having. Did you by chance set up all 3 computers? Do they have more than one anti virus program running on them? That will slow your systems down.
I see a pretty big difference. On FF the text appears sharper and more in focus. In IE the text looks a little fuzzy. I hardly ever use IE. I have IE 7.0.5730.11 and FF 3.0.1
I regret to inform the list that the above seal doesn't work. It is the correct outside diameter but the inside diameter is too small. The thermostat is suppose to fit inside it and it does not. I ended up putting the truck back together without a seal since I had flushed the block with tap...
I appreciate the link anyway. If I didn't already have a surplus power wrench, I think I would order the complete kit. I need an online place to order from. The closest dealer seems to be about 100 miles away from me.
For what its worth, I have heard rumors of the resistor failing shorted back in the days of the mil-veh mailing list. I have not seen it myself.
I have one truck with the glow plugs hooked up to the 12v bus and 2 that are original. Haven't noticed much difference between them.
Their search function sucks. Here are the links:

That would be a better way to use the tool, but where do you buy it and what does it cost. I tried the where to buy link on the Kentool main page, but the first couple of ones I tried didn't have much of a web site or didn't sell to the general public and I didn't feel like going through them...
Well, some nuts are screwed tighter than others.;-)
The main point of my post was to demonstrate the little trick I learned on using the geared lug nut remover. A secondary point might be that whatever method you plan to use, it would pay to try it at home to see if it works and that you have...
The only person I can remember getting sh** had a gun ring with a 50 cal replica mounted on it. He was going home from a parade. The interesting read is here on the site somewhere.
