That is a nice dome light but I wouldn't give $300 for it. :-D

Did we ever get his side of what happened? Looks like he lost a tire. I can't fault his tie downs. He flipped it and had it pulled back upright and the truck trailer are still tied together. Not enough trailer for the load though.
I would say you are risking about 1 chance in 10 of spending about 10 to 20 thousand in legal fees to keep yourself out of jail if it gets seized at the port. While that is pretty good odds, I just don't see that it is worth it.
Hook one small terminal to ground and the other to +12v which will energize an electromagnet which closes the connection between the two big posts. So with 12v applied there should be zero resistance between the two big posts.
Thanks for the update, but I have to say that it doesn't make any since to me. What are they suppose to do, look into each truck's soul and decide if it is going to allow itself to be used against its creator?
No, you are getting 28v from both alt. You need to know how much the pass. alt is putting out. there are several ways to find out and even different opinions on exactly what range of readings is considered normal.
You can take total voltage and subtract the drivers side voltage from it, you...
Drivers side is grounded to the frame. It is always a good idea to check to be sure the ground is isolated before you hook up the passenger side alternator. Sounds like a loose or old belt to me. If it seems tight does it look good; is it shinny or cracked? Next step is to check the output...
It didn't have one of those norther tool import fuses in it? I read either here or on the mil-veh mailing list about those not burning out when they were overloaded. But even 10 amps through a high resistance will produce a lot of heat. You would think that if the heater was overloading the...
I have never been called a redneck in my trucks. I don't think the truck makes the redneck, just the man. I think most rednecks would like to have a deuce. Just think how much farm work you could do with one.
I find the default colors the easiest to read. A better title might be "For Gods sake don't change the color" :-D Black is the hardest for me to read. I don't like the bright colors like yellow or red or white either.
The EUC you signed states your obligations. Going on memory, I think it says you are obligated to notify the new buyer that they can not export it and you are obligated to keep records on who you sell it to. It doesn't tell you how to do those things.
Have you confirmed you are getting voltage to the relay and that the voltage passed through the relay when the key is turned on?
Have you pulled a couple of glow plug wires off and confirmed that they are still good? Easiest way is to pull the wire off and check for resistance.
"Unmodified production vehicles in good operating condition are not to be considered noisy or smoky."
Are you willing to prove yours meets this standard in court? I would be thinking twice about moving there myself. Its a buyers market right now, find a better place that minds their own business.
I agree. I thought they had AC/Delco group 31 from the factory.
I have bought several from GL with off brand group 31 batteries in them as well as several with 6TLs. Never got one that would take a charge.
How much force did you have to use to get the thermostat seated into the seal? The one I got from NAPA was so tight it would have took a hammer to get the thermostat in place. I just couldn't see the thermostat opening and closing as tight as it was.
It may just be the difference in the way...
The battery tray was designed for 6TL or group 31. 6TLs have a poor warranty. There is a long thread about it. I have tried smaller batteries, but wasn't very pleased with them. I have had the best luck with NAPA group 31.
It may be more trouble since they may be moving it all to a central location. It used to be just about the same. Some of it demil B/Q and some of it is A.
There is a good chance that is when the codes changed and it was decided to let everything work its way through the system. Federal agencies would be the first to notice nothing new was coming, then state agencies like the forestry service and soon GL.
