If you mount the aux tank in the bed would a simple fix work? I am thinking that plumbing a hose to run from the aux tank drain plug down to the main tank with a simple valve to turn off and on. You could not transfer fuel while on the move but it would make for a simple way to do the transfer.
Pawnshop, thanks for the heads up on the mermite inserts as I did not think of that. I have about two dozen of them sitting in my shop just looking for a good use. Even have one of the done up in 383 green. I found that the lids make great ashtrays for my friends who smoke.
I found with mine that once I pulled all of the interior panels that the rust did not end. I will try to grab some pictures of the floor now. I cut out the rusted areas and welded in new steel. Rolling some of the roof sealant on the floor as a bit of extra waterproofing and noise insulation...
Nice job on the restoration. I notice that you did not remount the shades for the windows in the box. Are you planning to do that later? I find that it keeps it noticeably cooler inside with them up. If not those are in a reasonable amount of demand by the rest of us with the shop vans.
The driver of that Camaro is VERY lucky. It could have been much worse with very little difference. Something for all of us to think about when we are on the road.
:drool::drool: Man, that is wonderful, my kids would think that one of those is a great play house. You may want to check with the person selling the one on Military Vehicle Sales and Appraisal Service. It is an M model for sale on a trailer up in CT.
I am out in the Westchase Tampa Bay Downs area. Keep my gear in a warehouse by the Veterans Expressway.
Jack,
When are you planning on heading over to the rally?
I have not seen any of the 577s or the modern 113 series for sale. When I picked up my deuce in San Antonio they were loading one onto a flat bed. I wanted to ask if they would let me drive it up since I have not driven one since my 901 ITV in Germany. I would love to have one as the extra...
I can see my wife now if I start bringing school buses home as well as military trucks. I say order some of the green canvas that they use to make the seat covers. I believe that Beechwood canvas sells it as plain material or scrounge up a bunch of surplus shelter halves as use them.
Hmmm, the pictures did not post will try this again. Trying to decide if I am going to cut the fenders off of the generator trailer, pull the body off and drop it on the frame or build up the frame height on a 353 and mount it on that. I do like having the back porch on this thing.
In the trucks defense, at least it is not that poor mule filled with shag carpeting that someone called art out in California. With some care and parts removal it could be fine.
If you are leaning toward the hard top take a good look for rust. I pulled the hard top off of a truck out of Texas that looked fine from the outside. The top and bottom of the rear piece had serious amounts of rust that have taken time and some new steel to fix. Other things to look for are...
I need a spare tire for an M116A3.
JB is the 116 trailer you are selling the pioneer trailer? If so, how much are you asking for the trailer or willing to entertain trades? I have a 105 trailer fresh from a rebuild that never went to a unit, a 116A3 and a 353 trailer all with titles or title...
Well I went yesterday to pick up the HMMWV shelter that I bought on GL last week. Found out a couple of things rather quickly. First, this one was part of a small initial group custom built for the JCSE, Joint Communications Security Element, which is the commo group for Centcom back when they...
I was watching that truck a bit along with the very nice welding trailer up in Alaska. A wee bit far for a recovery but the box looked pristine and you could do a lot of different things with the set up. I hope that who ever got the FMTV restores it well and gets it out into public.
If you post photos of the scouts you are well served to have a release from the parents. Our pack has a blanket release signed by parents to allow us to post photos with the boys on our website. You can find a Talent release form for use with scouts here.

I am heading to the Post Office to mail a box today. If you can give me dimensions and weight I can get an idea from them. If it is not unreasonable to ship I would like a set.
Always good to see another new member from Florida. Wayne is dead on about the Florida Rally. If you can come out for even just one day you will get a chance to see a number of different vehicles. They will run the range from ones that are just the way they came from the military to highly...
That is a very nice looking trailer. If you are going to switch out the tires and rims I am interested in the ones that you have on it for my flat deck version of the same trailer. I have one tire in need of replacement and would love to have a spare.
