Not stupid at all. Always start with the simple, cheap stuff.
My M109A3 (turtleback deuce) had a 10 amp fuse when I opened it up. I haven't searched the TMs, but I'll bet there's a spec' somewhere there for it.

Keep a low profile and don't say "Where?" when someone says "Duck!"
If it gets too bad, there are thinner buttons available so that you can get a little lower in the mud or dust.
You guys are often on my mind.
I hope that you don't take offense at my poking fun at you; ' been there, 'done...
Single. You got the good fiberglass sides, but it looks like the back section is either missing or laying in the bed. It looks just like the one across the front.
What's the lot and event number? I can still look at the other pictures with that info.
You can tow an EMPTY M105 with something...
I helped Bushman5000 retrieve an M109A3 from Norman, OK. The truck had no brakes from the start and there was evidence that fluid had leaked out of the rearmost right wheel. Long story short, the wheel cylinder had allowed all of the fluid between it and the MC to leak out. We refilled and...
Interesting thread! It’s a little old, but I’ll toss my 2 bits in anyway. About 1 hour after the picture in my avatar was taken I lost ALL brakes in heavy traffic in Manhattan, KS. CLUNK all the way to the floorboards. I puckered up so hard that I pulled 5# of cotton out of the seat.
I can...
I got a stuck one loose by placing a hammer head behind the lunette and cranking the nut into it, all the while whacking the casting over the lunette. The lunette is tapered, so when it loostens a little it will pop all the way.
CAUTION: If you jack up the nut you will have a hard time...
Jason, ' gotta love ya, even if you did beat me in the Ft.Riley auction in '07. Verizon is not cooperating and I can't get the pic's out of my phone. I'll post them later.
With regard to buying a new pump, in the last thread:
The URL for Olympic Controls...

It is an understatement to just say that I like to take things apart. I started at the age of 3 by disassembling my mother’s watch with a hammer. I often tear into things just to see how they work...
I titled an M101 in Colorado as "Homebuilt" because it was 20 % missing. That saved me the $60 for the SF97. I’m not sure if you could claim homebuilt, but if you can it is sure a lot easier.
I titled 3 M105s and an MKT-85 with SF97s and WHAT A MESS!! The Army doesn't really put VIN numbers on...
Jon, Jay,
My MVCC application and check will be in the mail to Jon along with the title to the M105 I sold him.
I was looking at some of those trailers and wondering how a little guy like me could mess with anything like that.
I have 5 year collector's plates on my '69 Bronco. I had to...
I almost bid on that one to get the tires and some other parts! Let me know if you decide to scrap it the rest of the way.
It already has a turbo. Here's what a non-turbo looks like:
It is a turbo. The pipe coming out of the air filter goes directly to the intake manifold on a non-turbo model. Yours goes down to the center of the turbo that is hidden behind it.
Want to trade? (engines, that is). No heater, though.
If this is a truck that you just won at auction, it is...
You are trying to apply rhyme and reason to the Army. In Viet Nam ALL of our trucks had heaters; in Boulder, CO in the 244th Engr. Bn. NONE of our trucks had heaters.
Look at it this way, that saves you about 1 gal. of coolant and numerous potential leaks.
This brings up an interesting question, in my county I have to have my multifuel deuce inspected for emissions and a diesel inspection is a lot more expensive than gas. What would happen if I show up for a gas inspection burning diesel? I wonder if it would be worth it to flush the tank and put...
I live in Commerce City, CO (4 mi. west of DIA) and bought a deuce at Ft. Riley, KS '07. When I got the EUC I drove my Bronco to Ft. Riley and drove the deuce back, towing the Bronco. My avatar is taken just outside the east gate of Ft. Riley.
Check with your insurance agent, but I was told by...
A loaded M105 trailer is TOO HEAVY to be pulled without trailer brakes; an empty M105 is right at the limit. Also your 1009 does not have the weight or suspension to handle that heavy of a trainer. If it starts into an oscillation, you are in trouble.
Look for an M101; reasonably loaded they...
