    Overheating for the third time

They have the same transmission. The new one just seems to have more pep than any of the other ones I have driven. (which isn't that many)

    Overheating for the third time

I went to pick up my latest truck last Friday. We checked all of the fluids then pulled it off and got it started. Soon after we were on the interstate and pushing 55, I noticed the temp was pushing 230. I backed out of it and it went down some. We pulled over at the next exit and idling...

    GL hassle

RE: The Demilitarization Program The way I read this, only the "technical specialists " can challenge the demil code.

    GL hassle

I have yet to see one that wasn't a random act of stupidity. You would be better off trying to track down a change that actually made sense.

    CUCV COLOR

Any chance you could post the original jpgs somewhere? I would love to print off a copy of the brochure. Or you could email them to me and I could post them in my smugmug account.

VIN Info-'You may fire when ready, Gridley.'

I picked up my truck Friday. It has a replacement ID plate with just the registration number on it. Any more info will be greatly appreciated.

    Drycleaning solvent

And it is what used to be brake cleaner. What they sell for brake cleaner now is something else, something "safer". If you look hard enough you can still find the old stuff.

VIN Info-'You may fire when ready, Gridley.'

Could you look up the VIN for this truck: S/ N- 4K9658 It is suppose to be a AM general M35A2 W/W, but it has a van box on it.

    Neville and blue box woes

Has your truck had the "orange wire conversion"? The pdf for it is in the reference section. I would also recommend that you do the troubleshooting in the -20 and then the -30. This charging system rarely works properly. I got mine to do so so, but it never seems to keep the batteries in...

    Current repeat EUC times

My EUC just went through today. Submission pending 4-10-08, EUC sent to Battle Creek, 04/17/2008, invoice dated 6-9-08. And remember, this is my 4th truck this year not my first EUC. Anybody know when they went to Smyma, TN last.

    The M-37 in Vietnam

I don't know about the numbers, but here is a pic of one in Vietnam.

    Current repeat EUC times

You must be close to the base. The closest one to me is 100 miles. I sure would have hated to have to have made two trips when I would have assumed that they closed close enough together to get them in one.

    CUCV Glow plug questions

Because I would rather walk across the street to my local NAPA, hand him cash money, get my plugs, then go to my shop and grind of the little bit of extra and then put them in my truck all in one day.

    CUCV Glow plug questions

RE: Re: 24 volt glow plugs ?? I have read through your links and concede that you have well documented that the 070 is an acceptable glow plug for the CUCV. I did not read anything that said the AC60G is an unacceptable glow plug to use. The size of the connector has been discussed in the...

    Current repeat EUC times

I hope you weren't planning to drive a long ways and pick both up at the same time to save fuel.

    Current repeat EUC times

Mine still hasn't gone through. I went back and double checked it and it is just like the three before it. I sent one in Friday for something that had changed from A to Q. Maybe that will move it on through.

    CUCV Glow plug questions

RE: Re: 24 volt glow plugs ?? And where does this information come from? The AC13G was a 6 volt plug, the AC60G is a 10.5 volt plug. The voltage drop is almost instantaneous once the load is placed on it. From my first reference: If the wellman 070 is rated for 24 volts how does it work...

    Dolly a DEMIL item?

RE: demil I have run the NSNs of my items through the public web site and they have all come back as the demil code that they said it had changed to. I think the mistake they made in your case was an exception and that most of the stuff has actually changed. What would it take to challenge a...

    M1009 won't start...did a search but no luck

RE: M1009 won There has been a lot of talk in the past that the current production fan relays aren't up to the job of being a starter relay. I would have to give serious thought to replacing one with something better like the relay we are using for the glow plugs or a real starter relay if I...
