RE: This won
Aren't you suppose to get some primer paint on any metal you sandblast the same day you do the blasting? I thought it started rusting almost immediately.
RE: Mine is similar to this one and works great
I have used a low power (600 watt) inverter plugged into my cig lighter for 10 plus years and haven't lost an alternator yet. I use it to power a laptop computer which is a low power drain. I have fried a computer screen by starting the car with...
The military has fixed these up with what you want to so you could go with GI parts. I have looked at a lot of these on GL and it seems no two are the same.
That same contract has this in it:
# Items sold by us, which are changed to a Demil Code status of other than B or Q from Demil Codes A, B or Q, must be returned by you to the nearest DRMS facility, and you will be reimbursed for the purchase price and any subsequent transportation costs...
RE: tos
Yep, the people who will be happy with getting one of these letters will be few and far between. The only good scenario I can think of is getting paid mileage to return it while you are going to pick something else up.
I have heard they are the same as one of the trucks, probably the M35 but I don't know for sure. If you could confirm that it might be easier to find the cross reference for it.
They expect you to get it back to them, if it comes to the point that they are coming to you they will probably be getting you, not your stuff.
As far as I know or have read, you either play ball or you get black listed and can no longer buy surplus from them. You would have to have something...
Us southern boys don't take to the cold to well. Seems like you northerners seem to think the motor gives off enough heat to keep you warm. :)
I look for a hard top because the interior seems to be in better shape with one, but a recent turn in with a good canvas top shouldn't deduct too much...
RE: m1009 Electrical heck
It depends on the fuse. The 12 volt circuits would be draining the front battery and the 24 volt circuits would be draining both. There are both 12 and 24 volt circuits fused in the fuse block. I would look for were you burned your wiring harness up and fix that...
RE: m1009 Electrical heck
Putting in an unisolated ground alternator means you hooked the front battery up to a dead short. Something in the wiring harness had to give, probably the fuseable link. You will have to fix that as well as replace the alternators. Actually, once you understand the...
RE: m1009 Electrical heck
CUCV charging problems. You have done a search and read all of the previous threads haven't you? Are you getting 14.* volts at each battery? Are both batteries going dead or just one? The schematic for the wiring is in the -20 and -30 in the appendix. Some trucks...
RE: tos
I thought y'all might like to know that I got a check today for 13.40 for my computer I sent back a long time ago. I got the postage back soon after I mailed them the computer. I don't even remember what I paid for it now. There were a few other items in the sale so this is a...
I have found that it is a pain to figer out what some of the stuff is good for. The military apparently has no good way to take a NSN number and look up its end use.
Spring seats are nice, or is it air ride? Heaters should be pretty high up on the list because they are hard to find NOS. You can buy the canvas reasonable from the manufacturer with or without the bows.
It has been a week now so it is time to post my latest pickup story. This has to be my worst pick up since I started collecting this stuff 20 years ago. I will admit up front that we did some pretty questionable things, but we did make it home without injury to ourselves or others.
We got off...
