I once commented to a boss about the seemingly large number of upset customers we had.
He just said there were 270 million Americans (at that time) and it will take us a long time to (blank) them all off.
My personal opinion- I have two kits. On one I installed I did not use the regulator, it works great. The second one did not work when I got it, I added oil to the system and deleted the regulator and it works great.
There are usually a few hydraulic pumps for the A3 for sale on ebay. They run around $60 or so. I see 2 right now.
The specs for the pumps are:
GPM 13 @1000RPM
Max RPM 3000
Inlet Port Sixe 1"
Rotation Counterclockwise
Max Pressure 3500PSI
shaft size 3/4 11 SPL
Outlet Port size 1" STR...
That is interesting! I noticed that sometimes my pressure gets to 45 then drops pretty quickly. I just thought it was the CTIS system. Now when I activate the system I run it up to about 43 then shut it off and it holds. Strange!
When I had the SNAFU with the A3 paperwork, WV DMV gave me a license (after I paid the blood money of course) and a receipt. They also told me no title until I could get the needed paperwork, so apparently a license (registration) and title (ownership) may be considered different issues with...
That surprised me. When I replaced the manifold, with all the tires in the 40 psi range, I simply disconnected the air lines- no pressure anywhere and none of the tires deflated.
The task seemed easy enough when I started. Here are 2 pics of the manifold. Just 2 solenoids and I think a motor. The motor I think directs air to various axles, but I didn't get that far. I tried activating each solenoid but I still could not get air to pass thru.
On the bottom are 4...
The manifold has like 2 or 3 solenoids, so I first thought why not just rig up a few switches to power the "up" solenoid when needed and the "sown" solenoid when needed. Once I got a manifold in my hands I realized that is not possible.
I replaced the manifold and console with new old stock and got her working, sort of.
On a 20 minute trip it does its job fine, slower or less time it does not fill up completely and I am not happy. Also the next day it often lets a random tire deflate. Overall, I like the trucks...
Got that right! I recently spent a few extra months getting and AZ title for my A3, as WV DMV would not accept the GL SF97 and bill of sale. It was strange as they had accepted those same docs for 3 other vehicles. Go figure.
GL to their credit was very good about meeting all of WV DMV demands.
Good job! I did the same with my A3, but it was because the alternator tech did not want to mess with the military alternator. He spent a lot of time with me to make sure the new pulley and brackets would fit, still it took some grinding and fitting. Mine does not have the 12 volt post, that...
