Thanks for the answer. I think I will find a fuel vent cap or use a small online filter. Having it wide open just feels wrong to me.

So, I pulled the spare tire down and noticed a hose just hanging out there. I traced it back to the diesel tank. Guessing it is the vent.
Where should the free I go?
Is there a breather plug or filter supposed to be in the hose end?
Should it be tied up somewhere?

Ok, slow update. Cut out the rest of the gun mount.
It looks like there were two sheets of metal on the bottom, but the top sheep flaked off. The bottom looks fine. Also used a white wheel and screw driver to remove anything I could. The hood liner is still trapping crud in the hole, so...
I was guessing that they determined that the boxes were never square so they had to mount one corner with rubber.

Just a word of caution.... even if you have them professionally balanced, and they replace one u-joint.... do not assume they tightened the bolts. Mine had the bolts half backed out.... noticed that while trying to find the source of vibrations.

Before you spend money fixing your axle.... maybe talk to Bryce..... I think he also sells full axles with gears already set up with new seals.
Just a good price point to compare to.

So, I have a set of Pewag snow chains.
They say in the cam lock “MRAP” and when I got them, they were for the 395/85-r20 tires and the paper work said 395/85-r20.
If you look at the Pewag part number, it says they fit on 14.00r20’s but not the 395/85-r20’s.

I may be wrong, but I believe the 1088 has a stiffer spring pack. The tongue weight rating on those things is HUGE compared to the 5ton rating on the 1083. Also, I think the frame is stiffer in the 1088 due to the point load of the fifth wheel. Also, the 1088 has different CTIS settings, so they...
