First pull the dip stick and see what color the oil is. What temp did you run max? If coolant is coming from the weep hole you may be ok. Go step by step before thinking of the worst. The most I ever do is 65 on the speedo and I usually keep her at 60. Don't panic yet.

I had to change out the temp sensor in the block. When cold the injection pump advances the timing for the injectors. Mine starts fine now and the sensor was like 35 bucks and easy to change.

With the 37" tires on the HMMWV I would be real nervous to run without run flats. It's a long way down to the rim and could cause real problems on the highway with a blowout.

That would be worth a bit of coin to a person restoring an old Sherman. New in the crate I could see 20K on up to whatever someone will pay. Good find!

Installed a pair of military lights to use as backup lights. Just running off a toggle for now until I setup a switch on the tranny shiftier. I still have 13" of clearance under the lights so that is not a problem. I sure can see backing up now :)

No not at all. The light bar must be blocking it. I may make up a bracket to run over the lights to protect them but honestly I have not done much with her off road. The cool thing was since the amps are so low I did not even have to wire in a relay.

Why sure. Could not find these for any kind of good price (average was around 40 bucks each) so I looked around had them shipped right from China. I paid $9.00 each plus shipping but now it looks like $5.00 each plus shipping and a ten unit minimum. Took about a week and a half to get them...
Just finished up installing the new lights on the light bar. Had to shorten the fording stack to make everything work. These units put out some serious light and only draw about 4 amps for the six of them. Really pleased with the look and operation.

It is a huge heavy starter and secured just at one end. With all the bouncing/shock there is a good load on those bolts and if over tightened it puts a greater load in tension on the poor bolts. If there was a bracket at the tail end of the starter they would probably never break.
Mark
You mean the bracket that covers the nose of the starter and covers the flywheel access? If so then yes I removed it to move the starter far enough away to get at the bolt tip. I used a piece of wood and a jack stand to keep the starter up and out of the way.
Mark
Well they are grade 9.6 hardened bolts witch is equivalent to our grade 8 bolts so you really need a real hard drill to cut it properly. People usually don't use cutting oil when drilling and this is a huge mistake as with the cutting oil the bit cuts easier and stays much cooler and lasts a...
UPDATE! As talked about it was a starter bolt namely the out board bolt. Was able to move the starter out of the way just enough that I did not have to disconnect the electrical connectors. was able to drill out and easy out the threaded portion of the bolt by using a new cobalt drill bit with a...
Well thank you. I get many compliments on the color. It is a slightly darker WWII Panzer color. We came up with it for my buddies 712M Pinzgauer and liked it so much I painted my M101A2 trailer with it and then when I got my HMMWV I went the same route. Have been very very happy with the...
