    Need some M1008 antenna pics

Most long mobile antennas are installed on the left side. This helps to keep them from hitting the more commonly found overhanging obstructions on the right side.

What did you do to your trailer today.

I have passed on the compliments to the two fabricators. They actually did bring up the idea of selling them. So maybe..... Now they are eyeing the M1010, so I better hide the keys to it. These guys are very innovative and love to make things out of metal. Thanks for the kind words!

What did you do to your trailer today.

Just removed all of the wood and boxed it out with aluminum. We did keep the bows to retain the original shape. I really need to give credit to Kade and Matt. They are employees of mine that did the majority of the work. It has been a fun project for them. Now they want me to get a 5 ton so...

What did you do to your trailer today.

For now just going to glue the foam insulation board to the inside. I painted one side light grey. Seafoam green would of been better but I had the grey paint and it seems to be a nice color. The tailgate step was powder coated OD green. It stores by hanging it on the inside of the rear door...

    CUCV Blazer Question

Supplies 24 volts to run radio equipment or other devices. Comes in handy if you want to power accessories. Can be switched over to 12 volts easily if needed. https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?95803-M1009-Rear-power-24v-to-12v-modification&highlight=battery

    86 M1009 water fording ideas

Many microwave and broadcast antenna systems use 3-5 PSI for pressurizing the wave guide and air coax cables. New ones are available but expect to pay $300+ for a regulator with gauges.

Why can't I get FM radio?

Try a magnet mount antenna, a 2 meter ham antenna would be a good one to start with. It should work well for the FM band and may work well enough for the AM band.

Why can't I get FM radio?

Make sure that the center conductor of the coax cable is not shorted to the the outer shield at the antenna and at the connector on the back of the set. A 24" piece of wire hanging out the back of the antenna connector should hear something. Can you provide more info on the 12v powered...
