How far to get home? You could take it off, plug the pressure line and put a stopper in the drain, but it will be obnoxiously loud. You'll need to figure out a way to put filtered air into the engine.
Check the blow by tube for obstructions, if air can't get out, it creates crankcase pressure...
ATF meant for older vehicles, like dex/merc is very high in detergent, it can loosen things up. Seafoam, I think, is a water based additive. Seen it used on gas engines, it is kinda like when a l o n g time ago we used to pour water down the carb to remove carbon. I haven't had any ULSD go...
Just saw this, been out and about. Any smoke? If so, what color? Isolate the engine from the chassis. Run a line from a clean container of go juice directly to the pump and see if it cleans up. If there is enough air in the system to make it run really bad, it could take a bit for it to clean...
Did you adjust the cross heads....bridges...whatever GM called them? Just do it, it would suck if they were too tight and as soon as it got hot, the clearance goes away and kills the engine. You are there.....
You can click on the date above the last view logged on the rt side and it will take you to the last post. Let me see if I am smart enough to take a screen shot of it......
+1 on NOT using shop air to pressurize the system. Go to NAPA or the likes and get a pressure tester. I have one I could ship to you, but I am leaving for 9 days. If yo wanna wait though.....
IMHO, easier to get an air shift t-case and swap it out instead of trying to mess with it. In my case, had to drive 60 miles to see if the sprag worked. After 3 trips, swapped it out, never looked back.....well, sorta, wish I still had my tuck :(
Think he said he has already done that. If the truck moves with the clutch depressed or in neutral, no issue behind the engine. Cut the filter open to see if there is any debris. Could be a compressor.
Cut the filter open and see what is in the pleats. Could have a locked up trans. Roll under it and see if you can use a bar through one of the holes in the flywheel housing on the flywheel teeth.
It rusts at the cap and top of the tank because that is the high spot and condensation goes to the high spot. Condensation happens because there is warm/hot fuel returning to the tank, and in your case, high ambient temps. When the outside air temp drops, the fuel stays warm longer and creates...
