singled deuce tires: Goodyear or Michelin?

Got to say that I have not driven a duece with any of these tires on it in a singled out configuration. I have driven a M109 with the Firestone copy of the Michelin XZL tread on it in a 1100r20 dualed up and it road very well (after the tires got aired down to something reasonable, the...

    M101A1 or M101A2?

Actually, the bow corners used on the M37 and the M101 series are different, but you can interchange them, just be aware that the hardware (straps and clips) used to retain the side curtains when you roll up the cargo cover sides on the M37 are different as a result (not a problem, just be aware...

Blue Ridge Parkway MV Road Rally

Shame that you are not holding this one week later... I'll be in Haspin this weekend... Of course, by the time I drive out there and back, my but will be a tad sore... Have fun, that route is a great one with a lot of photo ops.

    Unknown M809 Filter

The "roll of paper towels" makes me think of my coalescing element air dryers that I have in my shop air system... When they get wet, I pull one set and set them in the sun (or oven) to dry and then reuse them. They look like rolls of brown paper towels... Of course, a canister with lines...

    M37 - NDTs or NDCCs?

Yep, it is the NDT. Remember, I have several pages of tire and rim data for M37's on my website... :) Tires

    Land Train???

I talked to the folks at LeTourneau a couple years ago when they had a pair of historians working on an official history of the company about this, and again when a different historian wanted to do a book just on this vehicle. In both cases, they wanted permission to use the photos on my site...

    Land Train???

A buddy of mine who was in AK during the fifties while in the Army sent me a bunch of photos that he took, including some of the Texas gocart built by R G LeTourneau Longview, Texas. The LeTourneau College website states that the power unit for the overland train was seen in a salvage yard...

    2010 Spring Uwharrie Rally

The MKT is hitched to the XM813... Most of my personal gear is ready to toss into the truck... As long as Neil has a smooth trip down in the morning, I'm set (he made the run to the commisary for the grub...). A frosty one will be raised in honor of those not in attendance. Best wishes to...

I haven't really started to make up my list of stuff that I am bringing (it will be long, as I have plenty of stuff that no longer fits anything in my yard that I need to get gone...), but: M101A2 landing leg with surge brake MC M416 tub M100 frame '52M38 (possible, runs, needs floorboard...

    2010 aberdeen BS/for sale/who's going/when and where

Ferro, and others, I'm in Yellow T8,T9, U4,U5 (same spots as in the previous years). A lot of Steelsoldiers are in the rows near me: BKubu, AMGeneral, Scrounger, Jeff from Tactical Truck, etc. (actually a bunch more, but I forget the screen names...). The convoy BBQ is at my space on Friday...

    Dump Truck Running Poorly

It takes "forever" to prime using the dash pump... I fill the filter before I put it on, and it still takes a bit of effort. If you have a handy source of compressed air, pressurize the tank (gently) by removing the vent line and using its fitting (just push the tip of your blowgun onto it)...

new M416 trailer in the stable

Of course, if you wanted to keep it as a M416, you could talk to me about the spare tub that I have in the backyard... :) I also have a M762 (USMC varient) in the yard that is kinda/sorta looking for a home... Your project is comming right along, heck of a lot of work invested there.

I'm just up the road from you in Raleigh... :) Welcome. I'm down at Bragg once a month... No longer have a duece in the yard (sent them all up to the familly farm in VA), but I'm always willing to help wrench on somebody else's if you need help with yours...

    Dump Truck Running Poorly

I drove a M817 from OH to NC after a GL purchase a few years back. Had a buddy (AMGeneral) behind me in a M816 for the trip... We did the filter and fluid swap, changed out the fuel line from the filter to the pump, and straightlined around the selector switch. Truck still ran just as you...

    Where Can I Find

Charles at M Series Rebuild in Norwood, NC, had a huge pile of M101 rack hardware last time I was at his shop... The metal bits that he has are all steel, the wood and/or fiberglass has all been removed since he was salvaging trashed racks. He had the corner pieces, hinges, pins, stakes, etc...

Ye ole transfer case woes FIXED !

Good news! I've gotten into the habbit of sleaving and resealing the shafts on the t-cases of any M37 varient that comes into my yard as standard operating procedure... Amazing how much difference it makes, especially if you have a repowered truck and run down the highway often.
