I still kick myself for not purchasing a Navy IH Loadstar with a Holmes 750 on it a couple years ago... I paid slightly more recently for a M816 that will be a bit more useful for me ultimately, but it's not nearly as unique (nor as smooth a ride going down the road).
Give it a good home if...
I missed this thread the first time around, but will toss in one extra thought:
The pintle on the 2.5 and five ton trucks rotate (3/4 ton like the M37's do as well for that matter...). The lunette ring on the 1/4 ton trailers rotate...
I did once tow a M416 behind a XM813 for fifteen miles...
Ferro and I are convoying out... We have "kinda/sorta" commitments from one person in western NC and one person in TN who want to ride out with us. Depending on how we route it, it might be good to run the route we did last year with you, or it may look better for us to take the "southern"...
In an earlier post on this thread, it mentions that I will be catering (along with Ferro) again this year....
Once we get a little closer to the event, I'll post up the menu along with the cost info. That way you can decide if you want to opt in or not...
I'll be driving my XM813 pulling...
FWIW: I have purchased large quantities of paint from Mark at RAPCO in the past (personal use and group purchases). In each case, he discounted my per gallon cost quite a bit when the order got large... Also, as mentioned earlier, the truck rates were much lower for my entire purchase on a...
It would be great if you could join us! You were a big addition to our gathering in VA last year, and I hope that you can make it again this year as well...
I run the Chevy dual circuit MC in all my M37 varients... (The link Tanner posted has all the parts and instalation info you need).
Back when I was running with the stock MC in one of the trucks, I once had a wheel cylinder fail while pulling up to the pump at a truck stop...coasted to a stop in...
Keep in mind also that there is more than one speedo adapter (between the transfer case and the speedometer head) in use. Needed do to the use of different diameter tires by the military in OEM applications with the rest of the driveline and guage parts being the same in order to get correct...
Contact Rusty at International Tire and Tube (in Texas). I get all my tubes from him. Great service, and he knows exactly what you will need (he sells a LOT of tubes for guys with M37, M715, M35, and M809 series with radials...).

Glad that you mentioned being a vegetarian... I had forgotten that... I'll tweak my menues a bit this your so that we don't leave you out in the cold...
Once we get a bit closer, I'll scratch my head and will post up the menu and costs...
It's no harder on the tires than using one of the duckbill wedges, or some of the other bead breakers (mechanical). It's a lot easier to hit them and miss the lockring than with a duckbill. They tend to slide and tuck under the ring so they don't gauge the tire or cut it.
If you want to try a...
I'm in Raleigh about four miles from the GSA yard, and am there about once a week... I can grab and snag (even if they don't run, but they do... I have seen them...). Two is not an issue either as I can grab one of the Sargents at the office to help out.
I'll add some photos from my website from where I had to replaced a bad tube last fall (1100r16, but same principle...). You don't get the captions for each photo, but you can get the idea...
There is a thread on here (or perhaps the old site) that shows the method that "Scounger" showed me a couple of years ago that I use almost exclusively to break down these tires... Use three large (four inch or so) pieces of angle iron, and a standard sledge. Much easier to hit a piece of...
Just spotted this thread..
Be a good patient Nick... :)
Take the time to recover fully...
Get well soon...
I found some parts for you (that I will drag up to Aberdeen...).
I've been trading emails with BC about this.... Since I am in Raleigh and can get the items up to Aberdeen for him to pickup (or have relayed), it looks like I will be doing the pickup...
If I run into any snags, we'll let everyone know...
That's not the actual procedure for measuring a five bolt pattern. For a five lug pattern, you measure from the back of one hole to the center of the second bolt hole (skip one). This is done as it's easier (and just as correct) as trying to measure from the center of the stud to the point on...
Somebody has been working on your truck... The dataplate that you show in the picture is not from a M37.... When you get a chance, take a photo from outside the door looking in that shows the seeting arrangement. It will be a lot easier to see what you have going on.
A quick check of the tire/rim data on my website shows that the pattern is 5 on 6-7/8". It's a hard one to measure... :)
The data on my page comes from Budd, the supplier of the wheels...
