OUT AND ABOUT WITH MY HMMWV

Did parade duty today and the truck ran perfectly, never broke 190 temp. My copilot today did a fantastic job throwing out lollipops and waiving to everyone. We used comms the entire time which she loved and actually made it great for talking. The crowd really loved the truck and it was the...

    Ebay Rock Sliders

Those are the cheap crap. They don't even conform to the contour behind the doors, there are just flat.

    GovPlanet Humvee Arrival and Inspection

I'm no expect but I can tell you my personal experience. From what you say it sounds like you expect the fan to stop turning when it is suppose to be disengaged? The fan always turns and in the disengaged mode it doesn't move very much air. When the clutch engages the fan kicks up a lot and...

    Clunking in Geared Hub

No specific words of wisdom here but general troubleshooting ... since you have obviously had it all apart a couple of times, I would remove each part individually and see if anything is still making a clunking noise. For example, remove a gear and spin the remaining to see if the clunk...

M1151A1 Interior Roof Adhesive Removal (or Not)?

Oh and just to clarify, the lighter fluid softens up the adhesive to scrape off, DO NOT LIGHT IT ON FIRE. I mean, I'm sure that would work too but DON'T DO IT. The label even says it can be used to remove adhesive or labels as one of its uses.

M1151A1 Interior Roof Adhesive Removal (or Not)?

Try lighter fluid on it as in Zippo type lighters. I have used lighter fluid to remove adhesive for many many years and in most cases it can't be beat.

Where can I get one of these?

Well, start with the TM's, get a part number. Put it in google, click on a bunch of sites until you find the one that cost less with shipping included and then you will have your answer. Seriously, that is what I do.

Check how your tires are mounted

Just an FYI but any Directional tire will have an arrow on the side and it will be labeled something like "Tire Rotation".

    Gauge brackets idea.

    Colorado revokes HMMWV registrations.

I think the major point in the video is the Colorado legislature didn't intend for the DMV to revoke the titles or not allow them to be registered. The legislature is wants to fix the error and put them all back on the road. I really hope they undo this error. Every small win in any state is...

    Colorado revokes HMMWV registrations.

If you haven't seen this guy he is a lawyer and does his take on news article. This is a good watch. It will give you hope if you live in the state and had it revoked. 802 vehicles had titles changed to OHV !!!

    Antenna Mounting

I'm not sure what you mean. That is the plate on the side of the fender, the mount is to the rear and the offset is to the right on top of the mount.

    Antenna Mounting

I have an extra offset mount that looks like it would be a lot more sturdy than that. Don't know if it is the correct mount or not. I'll have to check but I think I have the base mount and the offset mount if that is what you need. Here is what it looks like...

    HMMWV FUSE AND RELAYS-LOCATIONS?

The 2 behind the instrument panel are Self Resetting. There are some with a red button to manually reset the circuit breaker.

    HMMWV FUSE AND RELAYS-LOCATIONS?

Yes, they are still circuit breakers. I only pointed that out because you called them FUSES and when a fuse blows they don't repair themselves.

    HMMWV FUSE AND RELAYS-LOCATIONS?

If I am not mistaken those are Self Resetting Circuit Breakers behind the instrument panel. Depending on other accessories there may be additional circuit breakers, one that comes to mind is for a winch.

    bouncing fan belts

Mine bounce and I have them tensioned correctly and they are matched. I was thinking of making another tensioner to cut that down but it hasn't affected me enough yet.

    M998 Brake Issues

In my case I read the thread because I was interested in the Brake problem and fix based on your question. I read many of the threads about problems so I can learn more about my truck, what to look for, what fixes it etc. It wasn't until I read you mention that you haven't bought the truck yet...
