A good running unit should only drop 1-2 hertz. Some units that have more hours will drop 3-4 but 5 is a little to much. I would adjust the governor and set you're hertz to 61-62 hertz with no load. Most electronics can take an increase in hertz but if you drop below 57 for an extended time...
I would suspect the fuel pump (not injector pump) has failed. It's not pushing enough fuel to the injector pump to keep it running. It doesn't need much pressure but just enough.
If your not getting any type of smoke while starting, that means no fuel. Make sure you don't have any binding in the governor linkage. I've had units that would start one time and not others, finally tracked it down to the linkage binding. When starting it, it vibrates enough to loosen the...
Don't worry about that, if you remove the ball, then it has to be replaced. Just make sure all your ports are clear and make sure your plunger guide is not broken. I usually use a cotton ball and acetone to clean everything. The plunger needs to be absolutely clean, it has tight tolerances...
I don't believe the seller knows what he is talking about and I think he is asking to much. Do you know how many hours are on it? A good running unit should be from $1000-$2000. Example: I have one with 1684 hours that I'm selling for $1400 and then I have a 2005 reset unit with 18hours for...
Like Triple Jim said, on 240 single phase you should have voltage reading from L0-L1 (120 volts) L0-L3 (120 volts). The knobs on the front panel only affect the gauges, nothing else. Try retesting and then let us know what you find?
I've got about 150 hours on mine now. I haven't had any problems and I haven't had anything come apart. I also added a scissor jack on the back of the trailer so when it's running, the jack on the front and rear stabilize the unit as it runs.
Not much pressure, it's the left over fuel from the injectors that is not used. The kink could be making back pressure into the fuel system and the pump can't inject enough pressure to pop the injectors. I would take the return line off and see how much pressure you have coming out of it. It may...
I looks and sounds like you have a fuel problem. If it was a safety switch shutting the unit down, it will still run when the battle short is on. Do you have a good fuel flow from the tank to the injector pump? I'm not sure about the 805a but older models have a check valve (glass ball) on the...
It's more than likely the oil pressure sending unit. If its not functioning correctly, the unit will shut down because it thinks it doesn't have oil pressure. Have you tried to turn on the battle short switch and see if it continues to run and see if the low oil pressure light stays on.
