Reset MEP-002a won't stay running more than a minute

1st look at the TM. What you need to do is take off the valve cover closet to the blower. Turn the blower until you see the intake valve open and close on the cylinder closet to the blower (this will be the start of the compression stroke of number 1 cylinder), keep turning the blower and watch...

Reset MEP-002a won't stay running more than a minute

Reference pictures on TM-34 page 137 if your unsure of the parts of the IP 1st: You need to remove the cap nut and delivery valve holder, then remove the valve spring. After you remove the spring, put the cap nut and delivery valve back on. 2nd: Remove the injector line off number 1 cylinder...

Reset MEP-002a won't stay running more than a minute

It could be the plunger guide in the injector pump, it may be able to start, then falls out of place, making the unit stop. Also, check the timing of the injector pump. For some reason the last 2 units that I've got from the military have had the wrong timing buttons. If the pump is replaced...

    m35a2 advice needed

T This has been talked about extensively in other post but it has to do with your preference. Myself, I love the fact of my multifuel engine and the simplicity of the older models. The deuce fits all my needs so a 5 ton is overkill for me but like I said everyone uses these for different...

    New deuce project

Does the motor not sound like it has a knock, it sounds like a valve to me? Do you have any blow by out of the exhaust?

    m35a2 advice needed

CUCVLOVER I see that you live in West Tennessee, I'm in Ripley TN, where are you. I have a 69 Jeep Kaiser M35A2, w/winch. If you ever want to, you can come see mine and get a close up look at one. I bought mine without a hard top and winch but found a non-runner w/winch. I took everything off...

    Mice and mep002a

I've had great success with peppermint oil to keep mice away. This is a trick a lot of car collectors use to keep them out. I usually take a cork and soak it in the peppermint oil, then place them all over the generator. In my deuce, I just open the bottle of peppermint oil and leave it in the...

    MEP-002 Injectors

To get the injectors out of the finned adapters. You will need to place the adapter in a vise and heat the adapter with a torch, after a few minutes take a wrench and move the injector left/right, it should finally come out. Gimpyrobb is correct, get with storeman and have him look over the...

    "New" MEP-002A Purchase

You didn't do any harm, the convenience outlet have there own 15 amp breaker. The breaker will throw before any damage is done. I believe Isaac-1 is correct, it's more than likely just the transducer going out(this is very common). You have 2 options, we have a member here that makes a new...

    "New" MEP-002A Purchase

Great, I'm glad it worked for you. I have a feeling that your fine tuning is going to come from the adjustments of the ip linkage (the pieces that fell off initially). I would personally work on the linkage adjustments until the hertz stop hunting. Then you can move back the spring adjuster when...

    "New" MEP-002A Purchase

Play with the adjuster, moving it left or right to see which way the spring will move up. I'm pretty sure turning the adjuster clockwise will move the spring up but I could be wrong. Every mistake is a learning experience. :D

    "New" MEP-002A Purchase

More than likely the spacer stayed in the ip or stayed on number 37 when you took the cap off. The spacer is an orange plastic piece. Don't worry to much about that because the unit is running. If the plunger guide is broken (which usually happens when the plunger doesn't move) the motor will...

    "New" MEP-002A Purchase

The throttle cable is attached to the control arm, the arm is attached to the governor spring, then the spring is attached to the governor arm. Then the governor arm is attached to the linkage. Ray70 is correct, if the spring is to far down the droop screw if will act as you are describing. It...

    My first Generator MEP002A

Looks great! Now you will need a 003a and you may ask why? It's because you always think you may need something bigger. Or I guess that was just me.:cookoo:

    "New" MEP-002A Purchase

It sounds like you have a governor linkage issue. How did fix the problem, when the linkage came apart? With the motor fluctuating up and down its going to be the linkage. If it was the injectors or ip pump you would have smoke or zero power (the motor wouldn't be able to increase rpms).

    Wireless Generator Parameter Monitoring

I use a kilowatt meter inside the house to monitor the hertz and voltage so I don't have to go outside and check things. This would eliminate 2 factors to monitor.

    "New" MEP-002A Purchase

Unit looks really good. It's been reset recently, I see and it looks like you got some accessories (i.e. Aux. fuel hose and batteries). I have a feeling you won't have many problems with that unit. As for spraying something into the injector pump before turning it over by hand. I have not found...

    "New" MEP-002A Purchase

Good luck! I would personally take fuel tank off and give it a good cleaning. Clean and replace the strainer/filters. Then take the cap nut off the injector pump and then take out the delivery valve holder so you can see the plunger. Turn the motor over with a 5/8 socket and see if the plunger...
