If it's a C series, make sure you loctite and torque the compressor support capscrews into the block, support block AND the compressor or you will crack the gear housing if they come loose. A fun job, for me!
Top stop and non top stop can be used together. No "pop off" pressures in them, that is generated by cam lift. You just need to use the outer base circle method to adjust them.

Two ways to take the FSOV off. 1) remove the 2, 1/4 inch allens, #12 in the pic, that hold the assembly to the pump body. The outlet fuel line and wire need to be removed to do this. 2), remove the 4, 10-24 screws that hold the coil onto the FSOV, #7 in the pic.

You can use a bottle jack on the ban rail and you'll be fine. No need to drop the pan, just make sure the jack is on the head of a pan bolt so you don't bend the pan.
When the cable breaks the little frayed pieces parts of the cable chew up the housing. Usually, if a new cable alone is replaced, it will fail pretty fast because of the damage to the housing.
