All multifuel engines went to the two hole injector, so they are the "norm" now. Any military truck supplier should have them. I would call "White Owl" first. Their number is 252-522-2586. Talk with George.
Also I got some NOS two hole injectors on eBay last year for $40.00 each. You just have...
As a aircraft mechanic your then totally familiar with all the different types of safety wiring I'm sure ! It looks like the whole plane is safety wired together ! At one point in my career I thought about becoming an aircraft mechanic. All the safety rules you must "follow to the letter" and...
Wish I could be down there with you ! Though to be honest, I probably would just be in the way. I cannot climb up and around the Tanks like I did back when I played with them.
I would go with a set in the front and a set in the middle axle. If you can afford a set in all three axles that would be the best ! I worked on and drove these trucks in the Marines. (if anyone doesn't believe I was in the Marines I can provide my DD-214 and my commission to Sergeant ) They got...
I'm in the process of rebuilding several Spicer 3053 transmissions. I have noticed something on several of my old and new shafts. The older shafts all have larger "bearing" surfaces for the 2nd and 3rd gear. The newer shafts made in the 1980's all have shorter "bearing" surfaces for the gears to...
I agree ! That is why I wished I had not posted about Tom's overdrive kit I bought from him until I could afford to buy another one. After I posted about his kit, they all sold out.
I agree cattlerepairman. That is why I said I did not think running 80/90W oil is bad. I ran it for decades in my trucks and in trucks I serviced over the years. It was after the "great oil debate" that I finally changed my mind.
(last sentence removed)
I forgot to mention this. I have worked for over 4 decades in heavy truck maintenance with my "specialty" being transmissions. I have seen what happened to you many times before. Someone is running a particular oil and then decided to change to a modern "synthetic" oil and all "Hades" breaks...
Well Gerhard you seemed to have missed the "great oil debate" a few years ago now. I was a firm believer in the good old 80/90W gear oil. I used them for decades in many shops and dealerships with no problems. Then when I got into a debate with "Welldigger" and several others I ended up calling...
I understand "Coan Racing's" position. They are a "racers' only site. I'm glad to hear PATC let you talk to a tech though. I found out all this information years ago due to my having a foot in the heavy truck world and the racing world. Back in those days guys where looking at all angles to find...
I have never used Lucas oil before. From what I have read about it, it doesn't stand-up to the major gear oils. Shell, Delo, Mobile are major suppliers to transmission manufacturers . I would stay with them.
That is an excellent oil, though I would go with the "Delo Syn-Trans XE" SAE50 gear oil myself. Like I said earlier all the major transmission manufacturers recommend at least a 50W oil.
At this time I am feeling better, but we will see if the infection has truly gone later this week. If it hasn't then I might be facing surgery to remove the damaged tissue.
