    Passenger Side Alternator Weirdness...

The curse of the black goo they stick in those connections!! I think at one point it was some kind of dielectric grease. You're right about these being 3 phase as well as there's a 3 pack diode on the rectifier. I didn't think about it until I was putting my alternator together last night but...

    CUCV won't prime

That's good you found that solenoid not working right. Any chance you checked the rack to make sure it moves? My 83 was not clicking loud and the rack was stuck but once I got it moving the solenoid worked. Got lucky and the gasket survived too. Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk

CUCV Heaven, My build of a 1009 and 1008

Alternator rebuild day for the 1009. Unfortunately one of the rear bearings got damaged so I won't get both done tonight. These are easy and fairly inexpensive to do plus I get to keep the made in USA cases and internals. Got new fans for this set. Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk

    Passenger Side Alternator Weirdness...

Hey write all you want!! It really helps so I don't have to ask questions to clarify. The drivers side is the only one that needs to be isolated so it should work fine. I have headlights that have all that in it too but didn't want to hook that up.

    Passenger Side Alternator Weirdness...

There's a good bit to unpack here since I think you have more than one problem. I've had this exact issue with one of my rebuilt alternators I did myself. It would pass on the bench but flash once the alternator got some heat in it. The gen light would flash on and off after about 10 minutes or...

CUCV Heaven, My build of a 1009 and 1008

Oh that's great news then!! I really didn't know. So that kit is actually a decent one then. Advance auto for the win there...I really was not expecting much for 20$.

CUCV Heaven, My build of a 1009 and 1008

Yeah it was frustrating not thinking the new tank and lines that the return got pinched going in. The kit I got is called FKM which from what I can find is decent stuff...some searches said it was the actual material Viton is named after but not 100% sure. My son can replace them in about 20...

CUCV Heaven, My build of a 1009 and 1008

Ok so the last few weeks we've been fighting the return lines blowing off the injectors. I had the braided 3.5mm hose and 6.5mm clamps that didn't work. Then I found a dorman kit that had the 3.5mm hose non braided and 6mm clamps. Nothing held. So off the the kiss world and had him check the...

    Fuse box replacement

That's a tough one. Probably have to break down each one in the tm. If the outside harness is ok you could do pin for pin from the new one to it with simple connections. Hooking up the cluster would be the most work on the inside. Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk

    4wd / GEN 2 light issue

That's good then it's in the green. I was thinking it would work with the light turning on. It's getting a second ground from the 4wd light. I don't think I have a cluster out right now or I'd check to see if the printed board plug is next to each other. I'll look for one I probably do. As far...

    4wd / GEN 2 light issue

Ok. Is it charging at 29 or so volts? Does the gage in the green? Is this your first one of these trucks? Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk

    4wd / GEN 2 light issue

Knee jerk reaction is the wiring into the cluster tape is crossed...have you ever had it work? Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk

    M1009 wiring questions

Good luck with that rain!! I looked at your pics on my laptop and it looks like there is a wire coming from the battery to the block above the gp relay already. You can run a wire from it to the top of your gp relay. You can see that in my pic. I used the original fusible link wire off the...

    M1009 wiring questions

I didn't think of using the eraser trick! I like that better as I use 1000 grit sandpaper but it's sketchy since I could mess the board up!

    M1009 wiring questions

I never noticed a hole in the card!! Great to know! That would make it very easy to remove. The one I just put in my sons 09 is very tight and wanted to try a different card but it fought me coming out.

    M1009 wiring questions

Yes...I'm thinking that wire off the block should be 24 volts...which is wrong you need 12...the wire coming off the battery will give you 12 volts. You might have fried glow plugs with 24 volts going to them as well. Maybe that wire goes in yo the block to feed 24 volts to the relay it would be...

    M1009 wiring questions

Ok, I'll try and remember all the parts you got goin on! First that wire by the alternator goes to a sensor in the head that looks like it is plugged right now...very front side by the injector. I'll hunt that part number out. The wire running to the glow plug relay is interesting...comes from...

    What is this part?

Well that is your starter bracket for the front of it. Extremely important to bolt that back in there. Suggest you don't try to start it to much with that not in there. I'd check your starter bolts to make sure one didn't break or are loose. Probably be a good idea to pop new bolts in it. Real...

CUCV Heaven, My build of a 1009 and 1008

We're guessing school...he parks in the back since he's a night student. Work is wide open with cameras so we don't think there. Hoping some kid drives in with it mounted to his truck. They can be that stupid. Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk

CUCV Heaven, My build of a 1009 and 1008

Yeah someone really wanted it bad! I bolted it on there with 3/8 ×16 grade 8 bolts with a lock washer and got them very tight. His truck didn't come with one but I found one on marketplace. We're gonna weld the nuts on the new one. Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk
