Yeah don't want to do damage to the engine for sure!! I think the oil shut down is 15 psi but it depends on that electrical sending unit to get that. Have you tried a mechanical gauge just to see if it is correct? I can tag you in a thread that this is being discussed at the moment if that's...
That's the perfect place to put one for sure!! Finding a quality gauge is always interesting. I have the automotive style that has the long hose so it can be popped up under a wiper arm when driving. I don't use them much anymore though. I assume to install that it is a few 1/4 inch pipe...
I enjoy your videos. I think I have watched them all from years past. Just curious as to how long you loaded it at 50% before you think it might need a rebuild? If this sat a long time it could take many hours to get the rings or valves happy again. I know you want to check compression...
If you know any auto techs see if you can borrow a oil gage from them. Most of the cheap ones are not very accurate like hf or napa all come from the same place. I have some very old american made ones that are spot on. Take 30 minutes or so to get a good hot reading and give it back!! Once...
You have a spare grill guard you're putting on it?? Don't say you're taking it off your decoration front end! Doesn't look to bad.

So we found my sons 1009 motor mounts were absolutely gone. I read through the forum here and found @cucvrus said the energy suspension 3.1116g fit perfectly so I bought 2! Another tip he had that I found is get 2 5/16 bolts to hold the clam together once drilled apart. It worked perfectly! So...
I am north of you in Pa and haven't had a problem starting mine at all. They have very good glow plugs. Since they sit most of the time and when you do run them you run them hard they start pretty easy. I do have a charger for my batteries that I have plugged in all the time. It's a basic 10...
I like those kits...easy to install. Might want to look into a raise block for the turning arm...might have a little binding.

I haven't seen anything you can buy for that from a store to fit. I bet it wouldn't take much to add some steel or a plastic shield to pop in there especially the front part since it hits the body pan and likes to rot out.
Yeah the military typically doesn't like bright lights on things in the field. That looks good though! I have a led strip but it's bright yellow so I'll wait till I get some white...you think of putting a dimmer on it if it's to bright?
Sounds like your line pressure valve might have been a little stuck and has now decided to move. It's in the front pump so it can get dirty in there if the filter gets messy. From what you described it is shifting at normal speeds so the TV should be set up ok. Mine shifted crazy hard and...
I think you're talking about the fuse upgrade...I think there's a tsb on that somewhere. If you hunt in here like the stickies in the tm section it should be there. Have fun with the 803!! Love mine.

I hear that! Could be a hook it up and see if it leaks. It doesn't hurt to take the box out though and put new felt on the flapper doors to seal up. No need in helping heating up the inside in the summer!
Nice!! You think 2 gallons will do the entire body? Are you doing the fiberglass top with that too? I used a gallon on the blazer when we painted it last summer but only the outside and not the top. He did do several coats though. It is still black fade paint. Can't wait to see it painted.
That's a nice one! Looks clean plus no rips in the seat! Looking through the pics it looks like the heater core isn't hooked up which where you are doesn't matter!
What's the little toggle switch under the steering column do?
Also me looking at the drivers side alternator it looks like a plug...
This is a great thread. Enjoy reading all that you've done and figured out. I have a question about that overflow. It looks like the overflow hose is connected to the bottle on the top and bottom. In the loop it looks like it tees off and goes under the radiator?? Weird. Anyhow...when you remove...
I've seen a few and they do spit out a good bit of goop smoke once they get hot. I think it was a youtube link but can't remember
