I run a 1" impact also off of the gladhands, but you do have to let the truck catch up, If I have it with me I put a 10gal. air tank inline and that works well.
I would do some trouble shooting before you start changing parts. low air p/n 12375453 There is two of them on the tanks under the passenger side of the cab. Fail Safe. p/n 11669142 Under dash on left side by vent. therooster2001 here on steel soldiers had some for sale.
I would try to use a fuel can and hose and go right into the pump, If it runs that way then you have an air leak some place. Make sure the can and hose are clean, no filter.
I use an oil that is GL-5 and MT-1 rated, Needs to be yellow metal safe. I also use Lucas Oil Stabilizer, Does is help, Well I do not know, But It make me fill good, LOL.
I just finished part of the MVPA Rt. 66 convoy in my M923A1 pulling a M105. Had a S280 shalter in the M923A1 and all types of spare tires and parts in the M105 and tools. I drove a total of 3110 Miles and got avg. of 8.5mpg. On the convoy we drove around 30-35 mph, on the way to the meet up...
