What have you done to your FMTV or LMTV today

I put the canopy back on today. I could have likely made the spacer collars 3" given the weight of the assembly and the hold-down straps at each leg. I just wanted to make sure that there was still enough leg slipped into the receivers so it would maintain integrity. There's actually enough...

What have you done to your FMTV or LMTV today

Yeah, the truck only had two spars when I got it. It was obviously pretty bad about pooling water in that configuration so pulled the canopy for the winter. Hopefully this will have it all squared away.

What have you done to your FMTV or LMTV today

Got the cargo canopy frame all re-installed. Better than new (it wasn't painted for **** by the manufacture and I added four more spars). Also made up six 2" spacer collars (one for each leg) and raised the roof a couple inches.

    Fun with Tires

Do I try to split the rim with a grinder or just jump straight to the cutting touch? Asking for a friend ;p

    Fun with Tires

So I have a flat spot on one of my tires. A mild "clomp" but noticeable. All tires are no-wear except the two front (all were NOS and installed about 5K ago). I have three spares (one onboard) so about three weeks back I rolled one out of the garage and swapped it with driver rear. No change...

License plate frame with LED lights...use on LMTV

Ah, that never occurred to me. Still, it's just one less thing to incorrectly be pulled over for. ;)

    Trailer supply rebuild?

The knobs come off with a small push pin just like the OEM. Instead of the external retainer nut the OEM uses to hold it to the face plate, there are four screws (which would need holes be drilled). But as you say, Sean may have encountered something I'm not seeing here.

    Trailer supply rebuild?

Looking at it today, the holes for the knobs are identically spaced. It has four threaded mounting holes on the face of the device. I'd think you could just drill four holes and bolt it to the existing faceplate.

I just grabbed an $8.00 one off Amazon

    Trailer supply rebuild?

Yeah. In Sean's defense he did tell me to go watch the video (of course he says that every time anyone asks a question on the FB page). With almost 100 videos and no way to search for what is in each, I can't always find the time to re-watch everything from scratch (I have seen many of his...

    Trailer supply rebuild?

I stand corrected then. When I asked about it on the FB group, Sean Fillner stated that it bolted right up to the existing. I guess I should have looked into it more closely. Thanks

    Greaseable polyurethane sway bar bushings

Well the simple fix is for you guys to work together. Rusty could get the *exact* specs off the trailer and Awesomeness could do the CAD, 3D-print, and mold. Assuming the demand is there (I know that I'm keeping my eye a couple M1082s currently).

What have you done to your FMTV or LMTV today

Anything with a PCB board is suspect and also needs to be protected from EMP, etc. I don't know about the transmission but I suspect the CTIS would be a goner in any case. Not that would hamper the vehicle once it was unplugged and the tires aired up. Edit: the idea behind most "EMP...

What have you done to your FMTV or LMTV today

Pulled all the bed cover polls. I was going to just sand them but the manufacturer must have used saltwater at a primer. I ended up taking a wire wheel to all of the poles and braces. I also made up four more flat bars and welded pieces of tube to each end (I only had two on the truck and...

Well, I just set mine up to use until I get my ambulance body and mount it. At that point, I'll be running it off the tank.

    lmtv glad hand

Yep. In fact, IIRC such a line was included in the OEM kit at delivery. Ties into the service air. What I did was just snag the parts from Amazon and made my own: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01D28NTPO/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1...

    lmtv ctis wheel hose sources

Have you tried a local hydraulic/pneumatic repair shop (one that makes hoses)? I've got two spare in the same condition (rubber has rotted and the steel braid has rusted up). I'm just going to take one to a couple shops. Pretty much standard hose (same exact hose on my off-road shocks that...
