I thought it was very civil and caring and for the most part stayed within the rules of the site.
I have one of these trailers which has not had modifications and stands rather high, right at 21" to the bottom of the dovetail. Mine has the legal lighting (led), but I can sure see the need...
The days of plenty are gone. All four corners and the front of my 1101 were bent and it had junk tires....but what do you expect for $300.
You could bring a 105 down by putting 16.5 bolster wheels on it.
Yea, I think you are right on at the 1820# weight.
Mine has a heavy coat of undercoating that was near liquid in the heat the other day. I put 2 hardwood boards through it, sticking out the sides about a foot. I can get some steel barrels and may put a bit of water in them for stability. I...
I read the "weight of deuce parts" and determined the bed weighs between 1200 and 2000 lbs.
Since I got some wood today to stick through it and jack it up for removal....it's good to know. Sorry, no scales to get closer. I think I need 4 barrels and the tractor front end loader can handle...
Oak, walnut, cherry etc. tongue and groove solid wood flooring makes a good wall covering. I use screws and fasten to wood or metal frame (pre-drill). Small heads don't split the tongue. Small quantities are cheap.
Why wouldn't you use the standard combat rims and beadlocks from an A1 or A2 (939 series)? They fit perfect with the 395. On the LMTV, I'm not sure I like the construction, compared to the standard 5 ton combat. Doesn't the LMTV have the bolt face on the outside plate, not the dished part?
Here is the L that I'm using to reinforce the deuce frame. It's 11" x3"x10' X1/4". Some version of it could be used in the high stress area from the hinge to the cylinder push point on the bed. Cost for steel and forming $200.
Thanks OD. I had a part of one jack to start with. The green part is remains of a road sign steel (box) tubing that fits just right inside of the tan part. You can probably get a couple pieces at your county highway department. Unfortunately my S-788 is going to go over them and make them...
That is a 16.5 "bolster" wheel with 12.5 x 16.5 tire. It's the wheel used on the M1061 trailer. Duals are 9.00x20" (but 8'8" wide).
I don't know about a source for the deuce spring mounts but some of the vendors will probably have them. I doubt they are as popular for bobbing as the 105's...
That needs a pilot operated check valve....same as the ones at the bottoms of cranes and some dumping cylinders. It takes pressure on the reverse to open it.
This winch is a crane winch and locks the load, so it takes reverse pressure to move. The brake only locks in the pull direction....has...
