Compared to the troubles in other states, I think they are doing fine. Note this is a special historic licensing procedure that most people do not need. Normal (plated) historic plates could have been bought or a normal truck plate. That there is a glitch because they don't want to display a...

    Sparks fly when connecting batteries

Easy enough to find out with ohmmeter....open - burned out....continuity/closed - still working.

Why not get a plate and remove it for an event? Heavy magnets would surely hold it on but be removable. Edit....oh yea.....aluminum....okay a mechanical fastener. Here is another idea. I'll post the picture of my A3 deuce door for reference. Doesn't about every unit have an insignia that a...

    Sparks fly when connecting batteries

If they were burned out, there would probably be no current. Sounds like a stuck set of contacts, maybe some corrosion preventing it from breaking the circuit. Or a spring that should force the contacts apart, not doing it.

I think the FS black would look fine on tan in stencil letters. How much of a savings is there over regular historic plates or just regular plates on a 1 ton truck (farm)?

Cargo Bed Dump Conversion Hinge Designs

Yes, exactly, you used the spacer tube to reinforce the thin bed rail. I use red primer liberally then never-seize or waterproof moly when putting together and don't bother with lube holes.

M925A2 Trailer Made From M923A1 Truck

Feet, not mm. 74M35's example looks scary....but everyone has some fantasy I guess.

    Sparks fly when connecting batteries

Seems like you should use the Ohmmeter, something that large I would expect to read a dead short. keep the battery disconnected

    Appels Bobbed M932/930 dump truck

John, I'm bringing this up again to ask a few questions. Great looking truck, by the way. It's the perfect use for a 931 that is not being used for a tractor. Proportions look just right. I happen to have one of them that is the nicest truck I've had....and not selling. If you were doing...

Transfer case upgrade to a XM818

Matt, I see the mouse patrol is checking it out. With the really cold weather, we have a rise in population trying to find a warm place. Bet your bucket list includes a dump! We burn pallet sawmill waste, most of it blocks from cut to length, about 30 miles away. 3 of my dump trailers 12'...

What did you do to your trailer today.

Seems like there should be a use for the airlift tubes. I'm not looking for some....I have a set on the bed below that I'm hoping some brilliant inventor has adapted to something useful for us earth bound users. With four, they would make for fast support when removing the bed. My 2 ... I'm...

LED auxiliary lighting. 12V or 24v

I prayed for forgiveness...He said it's okay this time but don't let it happen again.

LED auxiliary lighting. 12V or 24v

You're feeding them too well. We enjoyed a balmy 11*f high today after -11 last night real temps. I skunked a good box of beer letting it sit outside and get frozen from Christmas eve. Didn't explode.

LED auxiliary lighting. 12V or 24v

No. The battery's negative (black) is hooked to the frame (ground). Most wires to the switched power (2 12v in series = 24v) are 24v to the ground. But there is a middle wire that does have 12v, I think for the blower. Do you understand how a series and parallel electric circuit works...

What did you do to your trailer today.

Nice looking trailer ! What are your plans for brakes? Do you have any plans for the slide out tubes on each end?

What did you do to your trailer today.

That is a good looking setup Tinstar. Nice job. It sets just right and you made it visible. I just bought a gallon of green 383 (Behr Marquee) myself. I like the bottom black too but am not sure I will go with the water based acrylic (latex)(Behr). I notice that wet areas show rust again...

Why post office? Take the bill of sale and that handy little police vin check and do it at the BMV...then no waiting (well, the title comes in the mail) .....you can have a plate same day.

LED auxiliary lighting. 12V or 24v

I expect they will be brighter on 24v. Try it directly to the battery where you can go to the 12 or 24 posts. I have some that I got from China that are straight 24. Also have a few remote control dimmers (either 12 or 24) and a couple manual ones, should you want to control the brightness...
