Yesterday I got word that a friend was towing a military trailer home from Kansas and needed some roadside assistance at the VT/NY state line. When I was told it was a German kitchen trailer from the Navy I figured it had to be the one mwmules was selling.
You definitely notice this thing...
Looks like you've got a bunch of m151 jeep heater parts. The "other" cover is a m151 series grille cover, the small light openings are for the blackout lights on the a1. The heater setup with the door that swings open up top is for m151s, it comes up through the cowl. At a glance I'd say you...
That's a great deal for adapters for 2 pin cables to single pin receptacles. The adapters for single pin cable ends to 2 pin receptacles like pictured in post 3 are all over the place for $10-$30 but not the other ones. I'd like to have at least one to go with my 50ft 2 pin cable, I'll have to...
Chances are your 002a has the older 2 pin style, while the 803a has the single pin. If you pick up a single pin cable with two adapters for 2 pin outlets you'll be able to get a jump start from pretty much any vehicle on either set. 2 pin cables are pretty much only good for jumping something...
I'll also advise against bobbing it, but I've got set of 5 ton front springs over here in VT if you really want to. Your truck looks to have been used by a fire department so up here in New England that means there is a decent chance it actually served in Vietnam.
That's a common way the military did it. One trailer I had used a couple m37 shackle pins welded to the top of the mount to take the weight of the tire, the angled part on the bottom was straghtened to bolt to the frame. I've got another mount off another trailer built almost the same. The...
If you want one that will last don't get one of the cheap gear reduction starters. I'd look at getting your current one rebuilt. I run the heavy original ones in my trucks with good results, make sure your bolts are tight and you have the brace in the front of it too.
I'd just roll with it like it is, you gave them the SF-97 and the manager accepted it. I'm sure it won't take long for some other HMMWV owner who can't get their truck tagged to complain to them and say "you allowed this one to be tagged" and they'll take yours away because it's an "error"...
