I don't see where anyone here is talking about a 12v conversion. My plan B restores the truck to it's original electrical configuration eliminating the failed DUVAC.
Nice, I did the same thing with the AC, however I did put the cover back on. Post up any questions you might have and consider the Plan "B" modification.
Just repaired this same issue on a customers truck. The fusible link between the 12v junction block on the firewall and the battery was blown. Run a temporary jumper wire and see if that fixes it.

If the batteries are confirmed good it could be a starter relay. Pull the connector off the relay and jump the two heavy gage wires, I think they are red and purple, if it spins you found the problem.
