There is a usually a VIN info thread where you can post your information and possibly find the last place your truck was at. There's one every year and since it's a new year there isn't a thread at this time. Last years thread...
Stripped some parts off from my recently acquired 1966 m275a2. One of the quarter fenders and probably the fuel tank will eventually end up on my m59 dump truck that is being fixed up and converted from a gasser to a multifuel. Today we removed the rotten cab with the help of the m756a2 and...
Mac, here are a few pics of the semi trailer part of the harness. It branches off from the rear harness right about where the brake cable comes through the frame.
I also noticed in the pictures in your other thread that your truck has the forward mounts for an m59 dump bed (right on either side of the pioneer tool rack). I haven't noticed that on other m275s, but maybe it's just an early thing.
Most of the big surplus dealers should have parts for it, nothing should be hard to find. I know I've got some NOS and used engine parts, as well as a complete parts engine if you need anything. It looks like you've got all the tractor specific pieces so it shouldn't be a long search to get...
Now that winter has arrived the dump truck work has slowed almost to a stop. Before it got too cold I painted the back of a winch and started bolting that on. I've got all the other parts needed to run it, I'll just need to find a decent front bumper at some point.
Floridianson was very nice...
I'd like to bring this thread back to say thanks to Floridianson for sending my m59 dump truck an early Christmas present: A set of pins that connect the hoist assembly to the bed. James took the time to remove these from a truck and then he shipped them, for no benefit to himself. Thanks...
Your best bet would be to find an m101a2 axle. An m101a3 axle will also bolt right up, but your tires will stick out a few inches on either side (m101a3 trailers have the wider axle since they are designed for the wider HMMWVs).
Here's a picture of an m59. Note the long fuel tank on the driver's side and short wheelbase. An m342 has a longer (standard) wheelbase and a similar but longer bed. The fuel tank on an m342 is on the passenger side, with the air tanks on the drivers side. Since you said it had a multifuel...
Just in time for the first real snow of the season we installed a engine heater, fixed a bunch of the dash lights, and put the plow on the m1028. Also oil changed it and changed the turn signal/4 way flasher relays for heavy duty ones. Also, 8 new 60g glowplugs in the blazer to replace the...
I doubt you'd be able to find 100 CUCV II owners in the first place.
The CUCV II brush guard is completely different from a regular old CUCV brush guard. They are built similar but if I had to make one I wouldn't bother trying to modify a CUCV guard, I'd start from scratch. There are a few...
The gama goats actually left a couple months ago. No pictures (other than the pic of the pipeline truck loading the carrier on the previous page) as I just hauled them on a trailer.
A few more pics of the truck at work in the yard lately.
We're engine swapping my m59 over to a multifuel so we used it to remove the engines from the donor truck and the dump:
Dropping the sprag transfer case out:
Dropping the multifuel in:
Adding some grease to the pulleys:
Added some...
