I just won the auction for an odd HMMWV trailer. To me it looks like an early version of the m1101/m1102. Here's what the listing said about it: 1975 Silver Eagle LWHMTC 1.5-Ton Cargo Trailer. Repairs may be required.
The year doesn't sound right and a search for LWHMTC didn't find any...
Lately I've got the hydraulic pump on the plow truck hooked up, as well as the joystick, control cables, and hydraulic hoses. I mounted the plow pump off the 2nd alternator bracket, it shares the belt with the alternator which used the original lower mount but is swung out further from the...
Earlier this week I picked up a very rotten 85 Ford with an 8' Fisher Speedcast plow. The truck frame is completely broken in half on the passenger side:shock:, but the plow works pretty good.
The last few days my brother and I have been fixing up the plow and getting it ready for an...
If you ever get up near Colchester VT I think I've got a few tops for HMMWVs, not exactly sure what's there but there is a nice set of front x-doors, a few soft doors, I think a new 2 man soft top (not sure which color) and a 2 man cargo cover as well as some other stuff.
Welcome to the site.
Here are some pics of some parts trucks I picked up last month:
After pics:
This carcass was sold for a frame swap with a plow truck
These two await the scrapyard:
This one will stick around for a while.
The lugnuts should be 1.5" Make sure you turn them the correct way, the left side should have left hand threads. I would take it to a tire shop if you've never done one before, they aren't difficult to do if you know what you're doing but they can be deadly if done wrong.
That is indeed a lunette extension. I've seen it mentioned in P.S. Magazine for towing a trailer with an m113. I can't remember which trailer though; maybe a water buffalo?
Later m37s use different style pintle hooks from the early trucks. Your 1963 truck should use a pintle hook setup like the ones on m715s, CUCVs, and HMMWVs. If you don't need the pintle to rotate you should be able to unbolt the pintle itself from the rotating carrier from your 50s truck and...
Well, a couple cylinders had no compression so we pulled the head which confirmed a couple stuck valves. Everything looks good now so we'll hopefully have it back together this weekend. The odometer indicates around 7000 miles which seems to be in the ballpark based on the original tires up...
Well, it cranks over good but doesn't run - there's no spark. The distributor vent lines are missing so it's possibly a cooked coil, or one of the other common distributor problems. On the plus side the floodlights on the roof work, as well as the dome light in the cab and some of the gauges...
Black Ops did some pressure washing this morning, there's still a ton of cleaning to do. The motor does indeed turn over so we'll take a closer look at getting it running this afternoon. The interior is pretty much gutted, but it looks like a good candidate for a cosmetic restoration.
It was down near Saratoga NY. The first thing after cleaning it up is to see if the motor turns over/runs. The ad stated the motor was stuck; the owner said he put oil down the spark plug openings once in a while so we'll see if it frees up. I know when winching it on the trailer it moved a...
My brother found an R2 listed for sale this morning for a good price, so after a few hours of driving we bought it! It looks to be in decent shape, it needs work but it's definitely worth saving. I'll take a closer look at it tomorrow and post some more pictures.
