You should be able to adjust it safely within a range of +/- 10%. To cover the voltage range from 190 to 250 you'll need to use single phase and 3 phase settings on the generator.

There are a couple of MEP004s on fleabay just north of me in Virginia. They look dirty but the listings indicate they run and make power. A little time to clean them up and go through them and you might have exactly what they need. They are under $2.5k each.

I recommend selling the MEP804 and looking for a MEP004. Those are 12 wire heads and can be converted to single phase. That might be your low cost and low complexity option.

The MFG website shows they are rated for higher RPMs. Here on the forum the application is 1800 RPM so I don't know how much info we would be able to offer about what you are planning to do. I'd be really interested to hear back about your experience though!

You can not convert it to single phase with a simple rewire as you can with the MEP004.

There are two answers. Yes, you can wire what you describe with a 3 wire setup. Current code requires a 4 wire setup. You can do it and it will work. It will not be code compliant.

Have you had the chance to check out the TMs? No fuel light is certainly an alarm that will prevent the unit from running.

Make sure you are considering apples to apples. The engine from Lister is rated for ~18kw without accessories. No fan, alternator, or generator head. You don't have not as much overhead as you might expect looking the factory ratings.
