I wasn't directing my comments at you, I was speaking in general about the atmosphere of this forum and how it's sometimes needlessly abrasive. Nit picking each other rather then helping one another. Pointless, non productive, rude comments instead of answering peoples questions. I try to add ah...
Yeah I called LMC today and they quoted me $80.70 with ground UPS shipping. I just priced out Browns and they were $82.00 but not sure if that was freight or UPS.
So here's ah funny one for yah. I was shopping on "Brothers truck parts" last night for this inner fender. There web site said that it would be approximately $44.00 for the part and $40.00 shipping. Today they emailed me ah quote for $232.51:cookoo:. I quickly called and canceled the order.
Ah few CUCV inner fender questions..........
I checked the archives and didn't find a direct answer to these so here we go... (#1) can the passenger side inner fender be removed (By it's self),without removing the outer bodywork?...(#2) Are our CUCV inners different then the standard 84 truck...

Both my alternator belts were too loose, even when adjusted all the way out to the end of the adjustment slots. So after much research I found the next size down (Gates #7480 & #7570). They were ah little snug to get on, needed ah screwdriver to help feed them on. But now I have an extra 1" of...
So the other day I replaced the 3/4" heater hose with the correct 5/8". Then installed the new thermostat #14077122, which is a 190° acdelco unit (from the dealership). Then poured in another bottle of water wetter. Today I drove a 150 mile trip. 75 of which I had 1000LBS of steel in the bed...
Well as it turns out you may have bin on to something. When I did the crossover swap I also replaced the heater hoses. The problem is I eyeballed the size of them as 3/4". As it turns out only one is 3/4" and the other, along with the bypass hose are 5/8"but I just put the 3/4"s on anyway. When...
Yeah I was reading in the TM's that normal operating temp is in between 190° & 230°. That just seems ah little excessive to me? Are diesels supposed to run hotter then gassers? Also I plan on installing ah banks turbo kit in the near future. Knowing that turbo's produce ah lot of underhood heat...
No I'm sure it's full. I've bin driving it for ah week or so now and the reservoir has long sense leveled out. I can't imagine there's any more air to purge out.
180° or 190° thermostat??????
My other thread was getting ah little diluted so I figured I'd ask here..... After doing the HMMWV cross over swap, and installing the temp gauge in it. It's bin getting ah little over 200° when I'm driving down the highway at 70+ MPH (Gear Vendors). But when I...
Just throwing this out there, (I'm NO diesel expert) , But sense going from auto to stick. Shouldn't there be some vacuum lines that needed to be plugged? Does the vacuum pump have ah line going to the injection pump? For that matter what does the vacuum pump feed anyway? Besides the auto trans.
Here's ah good video illustrating how the lockers work and sound. At the end when he gets to the top of the hill you can hear the locker PING!!!...................https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p_dZerJwfmI
