Update... Well I got my Module ,and my new blinker/wiper lever installed the other day. As it turns out I will need a different switch inside the column. The only difference in the levers from one to another is the new one has slightly more travel when you twist it, and the corresponding...
Yeah it's got fresh coolant in it as well as a bottle of water wetter. Because of replacing the bottom rad hose from the banks kit. And I installed a new thermostat, temp gauge, and flushed the system ah couple months ago, and it's bin running fine at 192° ever sense.
Sorry I guess your right. It's an M1028 with 31" tires and ah gear vendors over drive. I did have a chance to drive it on the highway today for about 150 miles after turning down the fuel. The EGT ran slightly cooler this time. It stayed more towards 500° at 60MPH and the boost is up to the 1 to...
Well I think I got my answer tonight. Cruising down the highway at 70-80 MPH, in overdrive. The water temp spiked up to 200°, it quickly dropped right back down to 192° after I slowed down to 65MPH. I think it was running about 7LBS of boost at the time? So when I got home I went ahead and...
I finally finished the install of my sidewinder turbo. And according to the directions, at 60MPH the EGT should be 400 degrees with 1 to 1-1/2 LBS of boost. But mine is running 500-600 degrees and no boost. I was thinking this may be because our CUCV's perhaps run lower gears then the civilian...
Chesapeake, This is the thread I was talking about. I just spliced into the original military plug and mounted the civ-plug just below the Mil-plug. It's critical were you mount it because of the pintle brackets behind the bumper.
Or you can just take the time to wire in a separate, 4/7 prong plug that way you have 3 options. 1 military and 2 civilian plugs. Here's how I did mine on my M1028..........
Well I cleaned all the contacts inside the motor today with no results. The wipers still won't park, so I'll have to put the motor on my parts list. I found ah module on eBay today for $20.00. So now I need the lever and possibly the switch inside the column.
I looked at some past threads here and on other forums and really didn't find a conclusive answer. Has anybody done this? and what parts are REALLY needed. I know there's ah control module, and I'll need the lever. But is there ah switch in the column? And is the wiper motor different? I need ah...
I was thinking about getting one of those for my m1028 but couldn't find one for a reasonable price. So as dumb luck would have it I had ah pair of 30mm ammo boxes in my garage I was going to weld to my trailer that ended up fitting perfect behind the wheel wells. Not sure if you'd have the room...
Well I don't think they (STOCK) it anymore, there made to order. When I ordered it the kid taking my order said, ("Once they get your kit put together they'll email you a shipping confirmation") that took ah week an ah half. I called after the first week to see if they had forgotten to email me...
Well including all the trips to the parts store for odds and ends I'm probably just shy of $2500.00. If I had it to do over again I'd do ah factory turbo off ah 6.5. Not so much for the price, but because it'd have to be less hassle then this thing has bin. I'm not real impressed with Banks...
Okay so I fixed the fuel line problem by routing it around and under the passenger side motor mount and out through an oval hole in the frame. Then I cut about 18 inches off the steel line and just plugged into it. Things end up being simpler when you don't over think it:cookoo:. And as for the...
Okay new question. I think Banks sent me the wrong crossover pipe. One for a 2WD rather then for 4WD. The one I have runs (OVER) the top of front cross member , crammed up against the oil pan and the cross member. I had to cut and fit it together yesterday. After looking on line I saw an article...
Banks sidewinder fuel line rerouting
Okay so I finally got a chance to start the install of my new sidewinder turbo. Wow this thing is fighting me every step of the way!aua. The exhaust manifold was the easy part! Soaked it in Kroil over night and it came right of. The block oil plug on the...
Agree don't waste your money on POR15. The idea of this stuff is to paint over rust. So you don't have to take the time to clean off all the rust. In other words let your money work for you. The problem is as stated earlier is it WILL NOT stick to anything painted. And buy the time you buy all...
Dirt everyday ..Alabama Army truck....
If you haven't seen this, it's a utube show that's pretty good. This is the latest episode of the M1008 they've built and rebuilt ah couple times. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h1mahrA_J4M
