I think at this point the compression test is going to be your best bet. Doing the test will either show you the problem ,Or at least narrow down the possibilities yah know:?:.
I used this rpm calculator and it said the 4.10's would put you at 3000RPM's at 70MPH...Here's the linkhttp://www.ringpinion.com/Calculators/Calc_RPM.aspx
I had an idea that I didn't see covered here. Would it be possible to replace the Gen#1 & #2 lights with ah pair of gauges? I'm getting my ducks in ah row to install my Banks turbo and I realized I'm going to have ah mess of random gauges, especially if I find ah tach I like. I thought If I...
Agree with Skinny about the idle, but to add. Is your high idle solenoid coming on? Have you tried throttling up to see if the light goes out? Did you prefill the oil filter before installing it? For that matter did you check to see if the oil filter is filling up?
That was the first repair I had when I bought my M1028. The only way to get ah bolt in or out of there is to pull off the pulley. You'll need ah (GM power steering pulley puller and installer kit). I just fit ah bolt from my nut & bolt hoard. So I don't know what size it was, but I would highly...
AGREE!! I guess because I've always driven "project cars" , and driven them like I stole them. My eye's are constantly scanning the gauges, and mirrors. :driver:Those 30 year old "warning" lights , IF THEY WORK?? Tend to only come on after everything's gone sideways.
Agree I just installed ah gauge ah month ago and found I was running hot do to ah sticky thermostat. The light never came on! I guess the light is only good for telling you all **** has broken loose. With the gauge you can monitor the temp and know your having ah problem ,BEFORE the motor melts...
While I was doing my coolant crossover swap I spilled some coolant down into the passenger side alt. It didn't "squeal" but it did have ah hard time charging when first started in the morning. The Gen light would stay on and the gauge would read low until the truck would warm up. It took...
I wouldn't under any circumstances buy ah radiator form Auto Zone, Or anything else for that matter. Someone else on another thread was having to fight with them to get the correct one that wasn't damaged..... Here's the aluminum one I'll be ordering when the time...
I ordered the banks sidewinder kit a couple days ago. And I was wondering if there would be any harm, or benefit to gasket matching and/or, smoothing out the cast on the intake manifold? I have little knowledge of diesel engines, and turbos. Would opening up the intake like this make it harder...
Here's what mine looks like. The front line is the (IN) from the (Lift/fuel, pump). It runs down the back of the passenger side valve cover. The rear line is the (OUT) and runs down the center of the lifter valley into the injection pump.
HA!.. Thanks guy's here's the link if anybody needs one. It's ah "Goodmark" part which I've heard good things about....http://www.summitracing.com/parts/gmk-gm1247102v/overview/year/1984/make/chevrolet/model/k30
