Here's a good deal on a plow at Eastern Surplus, it might be an old orphaned page tho.
Looks pretty simple to control, Up then Down, guess that's really all you need with that thing....its a little bigger then an 8 foot plow.
Good point, I once had a tire disintegrate on a dually Ryder moving truck on the New Jersey Turnpike on a Sunday. My only saving grace was being able to limp down to the next exit because Ryder's roadside assistance wasn't authorized to work on the NJ turnpike and good luck getting help on a...
Bummer the alts sold out so quickly. FYI I ordered mine 5:43PM EST yesterday, the alt belts supposedly have shipped but the compressor belts have not. No "ran out" emails in my inbox.
I ordered these as backups to my existing belts, at this price I won't mind one bit if they squeak as long as...
I really need to spend more time hiking and exploring that area. I'm a little too far Southeast to be of any immediate help but I'll monitor this thread. Best of luck on your trip and those road grades, please let us know how well you and your truck fared when you get a chance.
That one has appears to have a lot of post-1966 features (non-rear exhaust, airshift transfer case) so its likely been rebuilt. Looks like a good buy for that price given all the accessories: heater, cargo bows and canvas, etc.
Check the drive train components for rebuild date tags.
Wow, I just ordered two sets for the cost of what I recently paid for one NAPA compressor belt. Incredible! I'm now glad I waited to buy the alternator belts. Thanks for the tip!
Just wanted to mention an observation that the transfer case can be shifted without engaging the clutch when rolling while the tranny is in neutral.
Lately when coming to a stop in high gear, I'll start braking, when the RPM hits idle speed I'll engage the clutch and shift the tranny to...
Fuel Density Compensator, part of the injection system on most M35A2s. It sometimes leaks into the "sump." Most are bypassed for this reason without ill effects.
Call me crazy, but I would love to tune into the BBC channel sometime and watch Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May do...
A problem with brute strength while under the truck is its a little too easy to pop the square T brass fittings off the steel brackets, then you have more problems. I ended up cutting the lines to each wheel, removing the T bracket nuts from the axle, wrenching off the top line, vicing the T...
No, but if I had to do it again that's what I'd go with. My local starter/alternator rebuilder recommended Delco-Remy after I spent twice that buying a NOS Leece-Neville which I had to replace the solenoid on after a dozen starts.
I have NAPA Drain Plug Gasket #704-1364. on my inner oil pan drain. Its thicker and narrower then the original gasket but so far so good, it fixed my leak.
The thread title made me think of the dry dock Bath Iron Works towed in from Shanghai 10 years ago. They use it to build destroyers, maybe some of that steel actually came back to the US. Its a shame that thing wasn't built here though.
I split two clip-on hoses so I could inflate/equalize the air on two tires at the same time. The two chuck/hoses I bought at Tractor supply. With a little practice its no more a PITA to get it clipped on the inner dually then removing the inner valve stem cap. I added the whip hoses so I...
At $12.50/per plate I don't think Maine is rolling in the dough and filling our State employee retirement coffers. How much revenue are your states losing?
I'm pretty sure this loophole is a leftover glitch from 30 years of Democratic Rule.
Honestly this irritates the heck out of me. I'm a small government guy and IMHO Maine state workers have better things to do then process trailer registrations and maintain plate number databases for non-residents. Time to write another letter to my State Rep!
Yep its on the 1966. I had noticed another bracket internal to the frame and suspected it was there for rear exhaust.
The external bracket seemed a bit out of place to me, but thank you for confirming what its for.
I liked Recovry4x4's temporary solution, but when I replaced my steel lines I couldn't budge them with a line wrench. I ended up cutting the line with bolt cutters and removing the fittings with a 6 sided socket. Maybe cutting the line and crimping it with vice grips would work?
Curious.... I noticed my middle-right axle was warmer then the rest so yesterday I started the process of repacking those bearings while fixing up the paint in the wheel well.
There was some heat discoloration on the inside of the ring in the inner bearing, but everything else looks good. I...
