Where would one get hold of a complete towbar. I quickly browsed some of the dealer sites, but didn't see any.
Actually, I'll need them in NM, so... Anyone out there have one they want to sell?
Ten Ju Belly Mush! ;)
Isn't there a place that you can purchase rough-sawn lumber? Check the woodworking supply stores. There should be someplace relatively near you that carries rough cut lumber.
Actually, the TomTom said we'd arrived when we were at the intersection. I had just gotten in the left turn lane and had to follow through! ;)
Actually, I've been VERY impressed with the TomTom. One thing that just blew my mind on the trip was that the TomTom (when you are displaying your...
Yes, I was just about to go that route, but the fella doing the pass let me in without it about that time!
I'm still chuckling at myself over all the silly things that went wrong on this recovery!
RDM, tried to PM you but your mailbox is full!
I had sent you a PM a couple of weeks ago to get on the waiting list for one, but I guess it got lost in the excitement! :) No problem.
Please add me to the list of customers and send me a PM or email with payment address or instructions.
Thanks!
Actually, it still needed about 2 inches. But Mike and I were able to muscle it up enough to raise the LG and get it on the pintle. Then a little counter weight on the back when I got home was all I needed to lift it up to get the LG down.
I'm still really happy with the trailer. And the boys...
Okay folks... I finally got it home! Seemed like it took forever to get the EUC to clear!
But, first, the story of the trip. Sit back and relax, I'm sure you'll get a chuckle out of this!
Rushed home Tuesday afternoon and picked up my buddy's Dodge Ram. He runs the local Line-X franchises...
Thanks, Doug!
Thanks for the thread, Doug! I've been wondering how I was going to deal with Virginia's requirement to have an illuminated license plate on the back. I'll have to put one on the front, too, sans light.
I've got the pintle angle covered, complete with a bracket to adjust the height (although the truck is pretty hight already!)
I've worked with Mike before... very nice fellow.
I wondered if I should take the cover and bows down. I will. And I'll check the lug nuts, too. You're right, a few...
I'm heading up to M-burg this evening to recover my M105A2 trailer, at long last! Anything I should be aware of, either dealing with Mechanicsburg or recovering my first trailer?
I'll be towing it with a good sized 4x4 truck, using temporary lights. I'll take a spare tire (from my M109A3)...
Great job Mangus. I know how hard this stuff is, especially when pulling an all-nighter.
FWIW, I like the vertical list of "who's-online" also. Perhaps a scroll box?
David,
Thanks for your info. I just read the thread you mentioned. I wish I would have read that earlier! (Silly me!)
They must have repainted the entire truck at some point (although I don't see any evidence of that), as I can't see any indication of the OD green anywhere. Of course, it may...
Slowly working on cleaning up and painting the M109A3. I'm a little confused about what color to use for the interior of the cab. I'm going with the 3-color camo scheme, which is what is currently on the truck (just barely! It's horribly faded and was applied poorly years ago!).
Anyway, I...
Oh, thanks for the help, SCSG!! ;) (Just kidding!!)
If you think of him (or if he reads this), some of use would like to get hold of him.
Speaking of tools... I wonder if anyone knows about some AC plugs for teh M109 shop van jack?? Hmmm...? :)
Have you heard anything back on the deal you...
