    M1009 Heavy Maintenance Visit

To help with the shaking of the paint cans, use a sawzall. Attach the can to a long blade (tape, strap, clamp, etc) and have at it for a few minutes. A few companies even sell a shaker attchment

M1028 rear brake shoes & wheel cylinders???

Really? I found the wheel cylinder list in under 10 seconds. Just took some scrolling thru the brake section. TM 9-2320-289-34P, Figure 122, Item #4. Now you need to know what the UOC (Usable on Code) is for your truck. That is listed in the first few pages of Introduction Section in all the...

Possibly No More Trucks from DLA

All sold out. You should have bought one last week. ;-) The pulling of trucks is not new. Seems like it happens once a year. Sometimes every other year. It has been a while since the last pulling. Happened with CUCvs, Deuces, M809 series trucks and the M939s.

    Military equipment to LE suspended

Closed for multiple reasons. 1 - This thread is two years old 2 - This is an MV site and not a gun site. The original post is about guns 3 - This turned into another MRAP thread. While there is nothing wrong with MRAP threads they go down hill fast 4 - The last post is political so this thread...

    M1009 Heavy Maintenance Visit

Welcome to the Steel Soldiers Looney Bin. Sit back, bucket up and enjoy the ride. If you can handle a Chinook, you can handle the M1009. The 12v/24v system takes a minute or two to understand.

    M35a2 motor swap

My method of choice when I am doing one myself is the 4x4 thru the front window and back of the cab and a 1-ton chain hoist. Makes it so much easier to wiggle an jiggle the transmission into place. I have dropped enough transmissions that I can get one out in under an hour.

Behr Paint Jobs- Show me your MV's

Here is the Behr Marquee Paint code for a gallon 34094 - 383 color paint. I had to argue with the counter person about the number. They keep wanting to look at paint chips. I final convinced them to just type in "34094" and what do you know it came up. The guy that finally help me said I was...

Well everyone after 2 years,Im finally going to try to get my Army M1008 Running.

The pump will install on the M1008 engine. Just line the timing marks up. With that being said, the "new" pump is almost 30 years old and probably needs to be rebuilt. The rubber governor ring is the weak point and degrades over the years.
