My 1009 glow plugs failed last winter so I have been starting with starting fluid for several months. I started changing the plugs and broke the first one off, I had to pull the injector and fish the broken piece out. So I waited a couple more months and finally had time to put the new ones...
I have to say the m872 pulls great behind the m818. I recently brought home two container chassis trailers and my m1009 from Kansas to Nebraska. Ive been hauling soybeans with my m818 and a Stoughton hopper trailer. I had 900 bushels and weighed a little over 80000 lbs. I have one hill between...

here is a link to my post about using my m818 to haul beans. http://www.steelsoldiers.com/5-ton-up/23945-moving-soybeans-m818.html
I borrowed a trailer to see if the m818 would handle the job. I used a set of magnetic lights from walmart with 1662 bulbs(24volt version of 1157) My first load...
I got the box on tonight and took it for a test run. I cant believe how nice it drives. Ill paint it camo this winter. Better pics in the daylight tomorrow.
Im putting a 22 foot box on for this year and the center will be over the rear axles (if the box is full the rear will be carrying all the load) so the air tag will not really be useful. According to the tm, the tandem is rated 58000, the wheels are rated 13000 and the tires are rated 14000 so...
After harvest I plan on extending the frame, taking off the pusher axle and putting a steerable tag on the back.
The shop is my Dad's dream shop, he tells me quite often that he wished he had the shop and tools 50yrs ago but he is getting good use out of it now.
Seems like there are a lot of tires being mounted this week. I finally got my tires on the Hemmt wheels and put them on the m919. I need to get the grain box mounted and hydraulics hooked up to my pto and then harvest can start.

The shaft from the Transfercase to the powerdivider is what Im refering to. It spins if the transmission is in gear and the transfercase is in neutral. Im guessing that it is also turning when Im going down the road, unless it is only engaged if the transfer case is in neutral and not...
I checked the lever behind the seat. It just puts an auxillary transmission in gear to run the crane/rear winch. I still cant find a way to shut off the shaft coming out of the back of the transfer case. The shaft turns irregardless of the lever behind the seat but the crane/rear winch...
