    Glow Plugs

If you have to clean up the threads after you drill, I seem to remember it is 7/16x20 thread. An old seldom used thread anymore. A good deal of thread sealer may be required based on past experience. If I'm wrong, someone will correct me. Jerry

    Mep-002a Burning up glow plugs.

Yes it does and my set up seems to work pretty well. I don't get +- 25 psi but do get +- 50 psi. With most used injectors I see, they are off 200-500 psi, so improvement becomes obvious, providing they can be adjusted. Jerry

    Mep-002a Burning up glow plugs.

Button number on replacement pump means nothing by itself. You may have just got lucky! What is important is the combined number you get by adding the button number value to the port closing dimension (PCD) value engraved lightly on the base of the IP. If the compared totals of your two IPs...

I don't think he did. It is a pain to do and, based on past performance, he would have no reason to do so. I suspect there is still air in the system and that it was not adequately bled or solenoid is not staying up. He was going to check solenoid when wife got home to assist. Jerry

Here is what I've advised ZeusDiesel by e-mail. If y'all can add anything, please do so. He reused his copper gaskets and did vacuum out the injector ports before reinstalling. Jerry ZeusDiesel Try testing the solenoid as first step. On the 003, it takes 2 people to check out the...

I've e-mailed him to see if he re-used his copper gaskets or used my alum ones. No answer yet. Compression could also be an issue. Jerry

Some background from Zeus diesel "Yes it has been running for almost 2 years. I exercise this generator once a month for an hour at full load. Never had any problem with it starting and running until this last time when it just cranks and doesn't turn over. The oil pressure has checked...

    DC charging system stator overproducing

It was actually the DCVR. I had three I pulled from contract rebuilt engines, plus the one on the unit. 3 of the 4 were bad! aua

    DC charging system stator overproducing

Capacitor is intact but I don't know how to test to tell if it is good and haven't found anything in the TMs about how to test it.

    DC charging system stator overproducing

Can anyone tell me the effects of a stator that outputs 42 volts versus the 30-35 volts the TM calls for? Will it burn up the DCVR? Stator tests at 0.6 Ohms as it should. I should add that the system is not charging and replacing the DCVR had no effect. Am trying to figure out what to do...
